Wondering were to get info on individual broodmare sires. Trying to find out who the one winner(stakes winner) that Vicar has as a broodmare sire is. Thanks in advance.

I for one I'm disappointed with the age limit. I am a small breeder and owner, currently my wife and I have 2 horses in training from these 'unwanted' type of mares. In 2006 we bought a 21 YO mare in-foal to Vicar for 3K, the mare is the grand dam of Curlin. My point is that it allowed us to purchas...

I also like him in a state breeding program, but wonder how motivated the farm is. I had called about sending a mare to him and was told they would get back with me. It's been several weeks and I have heard nothing, just find that odd.

Ah yes, but blend in his KEEJAN results and you'll see that FT was not that anomolous. One mare sold for 39k but all of the others were also below 3k or even no bid. There is no doubt that what has been going through the ring has been discouraging. I bought a mare that no bid at the keeneland janua...

Excellent question, was Secretariat a steroid user or was it a oversized heart that made him great?

While the modern history of steroids is still relatively young, the complete history of steroids can be traced back to ancient Greece. This part of the history of steroids is when Olympic athletes were thought to have used plant derivatives, all meat diets and animal testicles as performance enhance...

Bellamy Road

Has anyone seen or have any yearlings by Bellamy Road? Is he one worth taking a chance on or is he just another over priced, unproven stallion? What type of mare would best cross with him?

Definitely is a buyers market, I picked up a mare that has produced a stakes winner of over 184k and 3 other winners from 5 starters, in-foal to a $10,000. stud fee for a ham sandwich and a cold draft. Probably could have bought several others like her in the same price range.

When it comes to hip #'s, 34 and 36 are a couple of my favorite hip numbers.

[quote="Heather T."]Parrot mouth is very common in Northern Dancer line horses - seems to pop up unpredictably (a foal can have parrot mouth when neither of its parents do). I think Dancing Brave and some of the other good Northern Dancer-line horses had parrot mouths. Interesting about th...

Here's an idea, lets just make ARTIFICIAL horses to run on ARTIFICIAL surfaces, dirt and grass (because that would be the safest thing to do). Here's another good idea, make a ARTIFICAL meal with lots of ARTIFICIAL flavors and truly enjoy those ARTIFICIAL tastes (because that is the safest way to avo...
