I think it depends a lot on the track you go to, but of course, I think the majority of tracks are pretty bad as far as simulcasting... I like Prairie Meadows simulcasting in Iowa. Of course, one summer I got to work up there changing the TVs (which if anyone is reading, I'm so sorry, it took a *lon...

And people read and hear these stories about TB's being hot and crazy, no good for anything except racing and their downhill build. The interesting thing is that I have heard from American enthusists of Hanoverians/Holsteiners (ie: German Warmbloods) that they don't want Dutch horses because they'r...

I think this is an interesting subject. I honestly think that the feelings against thoroughbreds in warmblood breeding are uniquely American. I do think this is because there have been thoroughbred mares in the US who have been bred willy-nilly to warmblood stallions and created some not so not offs...

Thanks PETA! It's all Native Dancers fault, that's a relief ;)

We must let all geneticists know how true the 5th generation breeds.

It will revolutionize science.

could his front legs be any shorter? A knowledgeable horseman once told me that a good racehorse often has a long forearm and looks like his knees are below the center of his leg. Nice short cannons don't snap off, and look how straight the cannon is, not tied in at all. Oh, I totally agree with yo...

Adrienne if you don't appreciate these looks don't go look at Unusual Heat , well don't look beyond his position on the BH sire state listings. Hahaha, I had to look! I like him much better actually. I like his head and neck bunches better. He has the same lack of quality in the hind end (actually,...

Now, given I've been working with Hanoverians most recently, but I *truly* dislike the way that Soul of the Matter is put together. I think he is an ugly SOB, I also think it comes honestly from the bottom side of his pedigree (TV Commercial). http://www.thoroughbredinfo.com/showcase/soulofthematter...

I feed Iams to my cat. I am glad that it is tested to be safe and healthy for her.

I keep my bag of food outside and I know there is a stray that has been snacking from it.

Thus, I am feeding one more stray cat than PETA ever has.

Yeah but if anyone asked if you have balls adrienne, you can say "Why, yes I do. Right there on my desk!" And then watch their faces! Haha, I told the vet that *that* was probably the one with all the stakes winners in it. Thus I could have labeled the jar "XXXX's Stakes Winners" Ahh, missed ...

Summarizing... the lady I used to work for grew up and is best friends with the wife of Pepper's Pride's owner. The last time I got to talk to the wife was Derby Day, so this is pretty outdated information, but at least it might be interesting to someone. They definately were thinking about a start ...

Hahaha. I managed a stallion who was quite evil and he ended up having a scrotal hernia and had to have emergency surgery. Long story short, he ended up lighter 1 testicle after the surgery. I really, really, really wanted to ask for it. It seemed like one of those things that would have just looked...

Thanks Jellac, I ended up finding what I needed on craigslist, of all places. Exactly in the timeframe I needed too. :)

I can't believe now that I've lived in Texas for 10 months and still haven't been to one of the racetracks... I wonder if I can hit Lone Star on the way out...

I am hijaking ya'lls thread again. I did find a home for my pony mare (thanks to everyone for the help). I am looking at leaving Texas in the next 10-14 days, however I got roped into helping a friend with an emergancy situation. I don't want to type out the entire situation here because I would lik...

Sorry to break in on this thread, but I am trying to network with some Texas horse folks and I can't seem to become a member of the Texas horse message board that I found. I used to post here because I was a super TB enthusiast and involved in the horse racing world in Chicago. I moved to Texas abou...
