Any comments on 3354...I don't own anything in the sale, just went through the book and thought this mare has a nice pedigree...any ideas what 3354 will go for?

I saw an interesting mare in there...it will be the mare's first foal, she was nothing special on the track based on the page, but a winner and such. But she's got a nice pedigree... Hip #3354, a mare by Grindstone out of a Known Fact mare. She is a half to G1 placed and G2 winner Brilliant, and the...

They told the person who runs our syndicate that she would sell for 100K at least easily if all goes well for the sale next November. We didn't really have a say in it as we are only smaller partners, but Three Chimneys told us that she would bring 100K easily if all goes well.

You see we're just a quarter owner of the mare, and it's the managing partner who organized the deal...And I know for sure that the deal was struck under War Chant's new stud fee of 30K, and not his previous of 60K. What I have said here is what I know. I am not sure of the other details, but she wi...

As far as I know under the agreement, we are not paying the stud fee as it will come out of whatever she brings at the sale while in foal to War Chant. And she is going to be residing up by us for most of the ordeal, and will only be in Kentucky when needed, so she won't really be boarding in Kentuc...

Probable Stallion Deal, does it make sense for us???

Question: How is Three Chimneys regarding help with consignment? We have a filly, Stone Hope, by Grindstone out of Fairest by Known Fact, who we just retired as a partnership this week. She won a MSW, and had 1 win in 10 starts and hit the board 6 out 10 times. As anyone with pedigree knowledge woul...

Now I guess it wouldn't be bad to sell then if Brilliant can make an impact in the later races this year such as if Howard were to run him and he were to place or win in a race such as the Hirsch Turf Classic or the BC Mile or Turf...I suppose any solid effort by him in one of those races would subs...

Sell or Wait...

We currently own a 4YO filly, Stone Hope, by Grindstone out of Fairest, by Known Fact. She hasn't really been the same filly as in her 3YO year this year as she was laid off a long time due to some issues, but she's competitive at the allowance level. Right now, we aren't going to sell, but wonderin...

We definately have confidence in her as a broodmare. As I stated, Eastern Gale was a superb, tough, durable, multiple stakes winner/placed mare, who was very versatile, could route or sprint, go to the front or come from off it, and won her debut as a 2YO. If she can pass any of that on, we'll be in...

Broodmare Advice and Suitable Stallions...

We just had our 6 year old mare Eastern Gale run her last race today, and due to a poor finish, we decided it's the end for her. She is retiring and will go on to be a broodmare and I was just wondering about breeding advice for her. She's located in NJ right now, and we're looking to spend about 5-...

Certainly looks good and upgrades the page. Hopefully Howard will point to the Arlington Park 3YO turf series aiming for a grand display in the G1 Secretariat Stakes. Brilliant also has a full brother who is a 2YO of this year, Equal.

Thanks for the input Brian...EG is a very tough, well-built mare with some good size to her. Hopefully SH can add some value to her when she gets on the grass in her own area, meaning based on her ability on the grass, but I think it's very reasonable that Brilliant ends up winning or placing in Gra...

Broodmare Values...

We have two currently running... One is a 6YO Chestnut Mare named Eastern Gale. She is running at Monmouth this year in her last year of racing. She is a 2-time NJ-bred stakes winner and has placed in every stake she's run in that she hasn't won except 2. She's earned about $220K or so in her career...
