rogue,

If after allowing all the b.s. posted about and against me by your friend Sam and several others you choose to erupt over my tongue in cheek comment, by all means knock yourself out.

Well I see the doomsdayers, rumor mongers and wannabe statisticians have been busy little bees. It amazes me that their half truths and "I heard it on the grapevine" speculations haven't been laughed off yet. I can't help but wonder what hidden agendas these people have in writing such tripe. The Ca...

arganaut, I spent a few hours on the phone lining up southern hemisphere breedings in Kentucky for some mares lined up to ship to Australia in your summer. A few farms here are seizing the moment by opening up their breeding sheds in September. Thus far, the most promising stallion on this list IMO ...

Rokeby, I agree with you. IMO Rogue gives Sam a free pass on the Rules of this forum, likely because Sam apparently does some work on the pedigree site.

I have also called her on it and am still awaiting a response.

Europeans: Which U.S. stallions are most popular?

Curious to hear opinions from our European friends on which U.S. stallions you feel are most popular (market wise) there. I have several young mares here with Group One winners in their first dams that I am considering breeding for resale at Tattersalls.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

JCB As a general rule, yearling buyers place conformation study above pedigree study, and broodmare buyers place pedigree study above conformation analysis. If this CTBA sale was for breeding stock, rather than yearlings, you can bet the catalog would undergo far more scrutiny. But, like most yearli...

This is a prime stallion prospect, IMO. More so than Street Sense, who has shown nothing like the kind of speed Hard Spun has. Kind of like Bold Ruler vs. Round Table, plus Danzig is a proven commodity as a sire of sires. The damline is nice, but not outstanding (Banquet Bell), but then again Bold R...

I agree. With the phenomenal success of Street Cry I suspect we may see more Machiavellian sons retiring to the U.S. Shakis may need to show some good form on dirt or polytrack, though, to generate much interest.

I just hope he doesn't end up like the underrated and under utilized SAHM.

[quote="JCBloodstock"]To the small regional programs out there-a stakes race is a stakes race." This is true. But California is not a small regional program; if this was an Idaho or Oregon sale, then the (N) stakes would be more meaningful to buyers. In California, they are not. re: pinhoo...

Times mean absolutely nothing except in relative terms. Horsemen understand that, and so do good handicappers. They also understand that a broken down horse was a poor investment and a lost bet.
