Re: Tendon Treatments

I have been amazed at how effective stem cell treatment has been in helping horses with tendon injuies. My daughter is taking reining lessons on a horse that recovered from a very serious (formerly career ending) injury in 12 weeks. http://www.vet-stem.com I know this treatment is expensive and wil...

Re: Bowed Tendons and Training

A bow is: a life threatening permanent damage and a visible reminder that whats done is done. It takes "discipline" not to set that horse up for failure, anymore . The racetrack is no place for a "Unsound " horse. HA! 99% of racehorses are unsound! They have some form of injury somewhere, racing is...

Re: Your stallion is a reflection of his master!

They are the most affectionate of the sexes. HA! I have never met an affectionate stallion in my life!!! (Not saying that their arn't any) All the ones I know bite, nip, kick, buck, rear, try to push you around, run you down! They are just plain jerks! The last thing in their mind is to nuzzle your...

Re: Your stallion is a reflection of his master!

:D You are so fortunate to be loping at the track,( R U down in SouthCal) I miss that terribly and I hope to be somewhere warm/semiwarm, loping this winter. Stallions are my favorite horses to lope. I am getting farm sour. I miss the hustle and bustle of the track always, something to do. 8) Gots to...

So what you are saying is ALL horses with ANY injury should be retired? Yeah right! Not all horses with an injury are UNSOUND. Not all SLIGHTLY knots and bumps are an indicator of unsoundness either. :( Unfortuantely horses with bows cannot carry their weight like they could before. Plain and simpl...

Re: Racing Lingo

Okay, I know next to nothing about the racing world, but I want to know what AAA and TAAA mean. I'm finding out info on a racing QH stallion, but need a little bit of translation. :D AAA means (speed index) 90 to 100. TAAA means (speed index) 100 and over. If you would like check out http://www.AQH...

Re: Bowed Tendons and Training

In bringng back a runner from this injury, what type training track is best? Any race tracks to stay away from? Any input/discussion would be appreciated. :( Experience of working w/ former employers as a groom) , horses are very good teachers, better than any human I ever met. A bow is: a life thr...

Your stallion is a "Reflection" of his master!

:D :D :D I am sharing actuall events that are working for my horse's safety and my welfare! The tennis ball is a " Irritant" and a distraction . When tapping the stallion's flank, the message is: Thats my business down there , what are you doing? Oh, you have my attention , now, then he backs up and ...

Your stallion is a reflection of his master!

:D :D :D I believe and practice the fine art of communication with the stallion, I am currently handling. They are a "Reflection" of there handler. The last several years someone else handled him, they did not do a good job. I am handling him this year. He wears a muzzle I designed.I should put it ...
