Re: What Has Racing Done to Promote Favor With The Fans?
DRF is a business like any other who goals revolve around profit. Good, bad or indifferent, it's the democratic way. Racings issue go much deeper than DRF. Horse racings lack of innovation is a large part of its lack of growth. Its fragmented leadership is another reason the industry appears to have...

Re: Michael Dickinson Warns About US Raceday Medications
Well said! It is unfortunate the USA continues to lag behind when it comes to drug reform. Look no further than how we deal with our human drug problem to see how ignorant and out of touch we are compared to other countries.
Re: orientate
I saw Orientate early in his stud career and was not impressed with his body. He was built more like a filly. He was small boned and not very muscular. It's likely he has bulked up do to years at stud. He was one hell of a race horse but you wouldn't know it by his looks. If I am calculating correct...

Re: A question about lazy 2yr.olds
My experience is similar to Madelyn's. It's difficult to judge ability until they actually race. Reading their behaviors is just not a good indicator of ability. Personally, I prefer intelligence over energy. The one thing I would do would be get a blood test just to make sure that "laziness&qu...

Bens Cat wins 4th MD bred HOY
Truly an amazing gelding. I hope he comes out in 2015 as tough as ever. No reason to think he won't considering how he finished up last year. Considering I own his sister, I hope his nieces and nephews have a touch of his talent.

Re: hypothectically speaking
I believe both NY and PA have very good programs. It seems to me, although NY will have better money, along with that comes higher expenses and tougher competition. As far as your stallion selection, If breeding to race, I would always go with the proven stallion. Considering stallion market is one ...

Re: How does the JC check to make sure that
Although I don't know for sure, I would assume it's because the stud farm has to submit a stallion certificate to jockey club assuring mare in question was not only bred on live cover but stud fee was satisfied. Stallion certificate is required to register all thoroughbred foals. I think it unlikely...

Re: Sickening
I often hear of similar accusations about the cruelty in thoroughbred racing. As we all know, regardless of the business, there are bad apples In every industry which can tarnish its reputation. I have been working along side these amazing animals in the racing business for over 30 years. I would li...
