I'm sure this was only a one time error but Jockey Club sent me the wrong info on the first tattoo search I ever did. I would have never known except I had paid for the $50 package and only got the $35 one. When I asked about it, I got an apology and a whole new horse pedigree, I mean new- completel...

Ever since I read this post, I have been thinking about why I come to work everyday...so I couldn't really come up with a reason apart from money, which isn't alot anyway being a part time job...I wasn't having any free time, no fun time and everything at home (and farm) is getting way behind, so I ...

Here's my worry on all this- what will gas prices be in 5 years? Look at the past year. Honestly we are fooling ourselves if we don't remember that oil/gas/etc is a finite resource. Prices are never really going to get better because everyday there is just a bit less left. Our demand goes up and our...

Seriously looking into a hybrid car...my oil company is crying today- it is the first day they don't get their monthly cash infusion from my bank account- we contracted for our geo...

Checkered Flag
Can anyone tell me who this is? I have a June 13, 1959 winner's circle picture from Suffolk Downs of a horse called Checkered Flag. Horse is not in database, so if anyone can give me info or add to database, TIA.

Just recieved my estimate for oil/ propane for next year at $6000. Argh!!! We switched our pool over to solar last year so our propane costs are minimal now- just the fireplace in winter and the hot water tank, so most of that is for oil. Have to call the company to talk about it this week- haven't ...

What a wonderful story about your saddlebred! What's in the strongid C besides wormer that helps the hooves? I have both my TB's on a biotin supplement: My 1st OTTB has been on it for about 1.5 yrs. It took about 8 mths and my farrier (whose been doing his feet for the 3.5 yrs we've had him) says hi...

Sprucewood Tack actually and yes i believe it is bug check. My OTTB had such a terrible case of hives last summer that he was on steroids, anti-histimines etc. 3 weeks before championships too. I will try BC next summer if it is ok for my mare too. Is there a time before bug season you need to start...

I have one I bought at a local tack store (local to London, ON). I think it is by Rambo- anyway it is white and it covers the neck and has a big belly band. Add a fly mask and my OTTB is covered as much as possible. It is made of that stiff meshy material that is suppsed to stand up to every day wea...

Glad to hear that CG is doing better. Had a problem with my very unfamous (but very special to me) OTTB this past year. It was recommended I put him on Omega Alpha Equine Liver Flush which includes milk thistle. Have to say I was dubious at the beginning, but he has changed alot since he's been on i...
