Medallist colt

This was a rough foaling ( red bag, very weak dummy foal, then mare colicked twice... ) but all are out of the woods now. At 3 weeks old I'm very pleased with the colt. Not breeding back this year as both mother and son have been on the mend and I don't want to stress either one... But I would breed...

Bay Rabicano tail: white hairs at the sides. Will be more obvious when he has more tail.

Re: color hereditary

You can probably use bay roan. There is no actual roan in the TB breed, but the JC has used it incorrectly forever so might as well go with it. Are there white hairs at the dock of the tail too? If so it's a rabicano . (Not that the JC uses that term!). Rabicanos typically have a lot Of white hairs ...

It's a colt for White Waterlily

Lily had a bay colt by medallist. He looks solid bay in pics, but has a skunk
Tail and heavy roaning where is isn't too visible: belly and inside of his hind legs. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j276/ ... xoqyft.jpg

Re: Statistical Question

I suppose the JC would know, but in general theory since chestnut is recessive to the black based colors ( bay/black/brown) only breeding two chestnuts will guarantee a chestnut foal. Occasionally two black parents carrying a recessive chestnut will produce a chestnut foal. Chestnut x heterozygous bl...

Re:

Case or Problem #1: Since "most" ofthese horses are maximum sabino's and actually have a base color that is not white...why not register the horse as it's base color and then the white markings. Many of the foals that I have seen listed lately as white are not what i would consider true w...

Re:

Let me add an additional comment on the merits of The Tetrarch that surely helped him boost his achievements on the track. This may help us apply the example towards whites, cremellos and perlinos. Although his gray sire, Roi Herode, was a good winner, it was the talented Classic winner, Bona Vista...

Re:

Someone may have to breakdown the barrier for sporthorses first. There seems to be the feeling that sporthorse breeding lines don't make good racehorses. Any out there breeding speed sires to sporthorse mares and racing the offspring? I bred my white Sporthorse TB to the race stallion Medallist thi...

Well line bred Mr. P would likely get chrome, though I can't say I've seen blue eyes from him.

Re: Keenland November-frame?!?!

The blue eyes are interesting but not necessarily frame. I have dominant white TBs that may possibly also be splash and have blue eyes but are DNA tested as negative for frame
