Question on differences in jockey club registries

I have a question about the difference between jockey club registries, mainly between the UK, US, and Austraila. I know that the original jockey club was formed in the UK, so I believe that any horse listed under that jockey club registration rules, if it was shipped to the US and had offspring ther...

What happened to Designed for Luck, anyone know?

Just wondering what happened to Designed for Luck, stallion out of Rahy, by Fantastic Look, winner of over 900,000. Did he ever retire or did something happen and he died? Would anyone know, couldn't find any articles on it/

Breeding back to the classic lines

Just curious, but do people ever breed back to classic lines, like lines starting to go away. For instance I saw an ad for a stallion, half brother to Stop the Music and Hatchet Man. You don't see those lines very often, or say for instance, Cetewayo, one of the last sons of His Majesty or old GB li...

That's really sad since a lot of different breeders from various horse organizations, AQHA, APHA, etc. moved to KY to take advantage of the KBIF

Honestly I think the economy has affected many areas of the country, but the Midwest seems pretty strong with less unemployment numbers than elsewhere. I think now is probably going to be one of the best years for deals on stud fees than we might ever see again

glad to hear she's doing better. we once had a case at my aunt's farm where 3 horses colicked within days of each other. It was due to it being a late spring and the horses weren't used to being on hay for that long. Colic is rough, I praying both White Gold and the baby make out ok.

that's the biggest load of malarky I've ever heard of, you're no longer an animal's owner? Who thought this up PETA???????? I think most people have their animals best interest at heart, the only ones who don't are greedy or have no morals whatsoever. Most people even in dire cirumstances, try to gi...

Speaking in terms of this, do international breeding farms like Coolmore, Juddmonte, Shadwell, etc. do you suppose they try to market their American standing stallions to Europe and introduce those bloodlines there or do they just go with what they've developed in Europe? It'd be interesting to see ...

Okay LB, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to point out Bobby Flay specifically good or bad, just an example that he's getting into the game. Someone everyone knows outside of the horse industry. There are good rich and famous people out there and there are some bad ones too. Wasn't trying to pick on anyone ...

The thing about Thoroughbred sales that I really don't get are the prices, 200,000 to a million dollars for horse, that's the equivalent to a house or a car or several horses in one buy. Plus I think that people are getting this for the horse, then stud fees should be lowered, otherwise how else is ...

Honestly when I read what people have to say sometimes, I just laugh because from the readers point of view, some arguements are just funny. That's not to say that you don't all have your own opinions. I'm honestly not trying to offend anyone, if you take it the wrong way. I watched some great yearl...
