But even the test is just a standard operating procedure (which I doubt because it would be time consuming to test every single jockey) that doesn't change the fact that she was taken off horses for five days because of the results of that test. Forgive me if this has already been addressed, but ev...

Since you are a horse person with a homebred, I feel you need a small barn that will give you the attention you prefer. In my experience, a small trainer who is hands on and who has or is a really good rider would be preferable to a huge barn who hires all manner of individual, some good, but some I...

Unfortunately, she is not the only one that I have heard of doing this in the last decade. This is why people should sell a horse for more than slaughter prices to keep away those kind. They'll only take if they can profit. She went out of her way to scam people though. :(

And it is tough being four. ;)

I can't comment as I don't know anything about the particulars. The one thing I did hear was that he might have noticed that his feed bill was a tiny fraction of the amount it normally is and some idiotic excuse about getting racefit track horses ready to breed by getting them trimmer. No one in the...

I think he's a bay roan whose child decided to see what he'd look like as a chestnut. She just did the mane and tail to see.... ;)

Seriously, spill. How old is he and what is he? :)

The horse didn't even make it to the track. WHY would you not geld him? There are too many inferior stallions crashing to the lower level tracks as it is, and stallions are darn hard to place into second careers. IMO, many more should be gelded. Exactly. Once they are past 2, they are major bucks t...

I look at it know as a paid for lesson. We all sometimes want the quick fix of claim and run.It sometimes pays off waiting on the 2yr old verses getting someone else problems.I must say at this point i have counted my blessings for the other claims that was ok.When a horse is dropped for a price it ...

Re: Age 16 first mount first win SA

And so what (per the DRF chart) if Tyler Kaplan's mount 1/ was steadied ; 2/ was shuffled back ; 3/ came out off heels leaving the turn ; 4/ was lugging in through the final furlong ; 5/ bumped with Lucy Got Lucky in late stretch . After all... that's horseracing. Seems (to me anyway) a BIG congrat...

I didnt know there were "always" when it comes to horses and racing. Just because you run a baby 5/8 ths doesnt mean its going to be speed crazy or anywhere near the lead , in fact alot of very good horses that went onto be champions made their first starts in very short races , first one of the to...

When we have a promising two year old, we always start it long. Once you get them running in insane fractions from the gate, you can't get that out of their head. I also don't get why someone wants a baby running an opening fraction in a time that no good horse has ever earned a cheque with in a "re...

If you are still stuck, go to the recently released names. You will spend less time checking. Obviously some will be gone, but it is easier. :)
