I'm sure that, at least speaking for myself, I did not mean to cast blame at all. Nor did I mean to suggest that he was not training between races. I know a group at Fairhill and they have seen works for the horse, so I know that he was being worked. I do also know that working on a cross country gr...

Regarding Barbaro, question regarding his training

The question has been brought up on many other forums- and on the TVG special I watched late last night; and I think, at least once or twice, it was misinterpreted. I want to put it out there, because, initially, it was one of my own concerns when I looked at this horse as a Derby contender -and the...

well, I certainly appreciate the interest - but right now..this filly just keeps improving. You have to understand - we knew going into it that this fillies attitude- not bad, not hard head - just take a little late maturing - throw in their a little know it all, blend in the right amount of "you ca...

What a crap shoot this game is...I don't know how anyone successfully campaigns any horse anywhere...its a hoot we put her in for the 17th...MC $15 going long, and if'd her for the same day, MC $7,500 going short, just like we planned...Ha! plans...yeah right.... the long race didn't fill...but 2 lo...

Nothing Personal. We hope to enter her on the 17th - $15k MC at a mile and 70 and "if" her into a $7,500 MC at 6f on the same day since the long races aren't filling. At least this way we'll give her a chance to see what she can do with some distance if the race fills - and if not- she can get a lit...

Long year with my 3YO filly

what a long year. Finger Lakes meet ends in 2 weeks and my 3YO filly by Personal Flag comes home. It has been a learning experience, the first "real" racehorse that I've run a full year on my own. She trained well all year...her breezes were decent, then she got sick late May and lost some time...de...

shame shame Madelyn, aren't you the one that was willing to take advantage of my personal situation a few weeks ago and possibly swing by and scoop up this little filly, her dam and possibly my 3YO Bid filly??? The filly - worth, as we all know, way more than $400 - is stud fees paid - eligible NYBr...

It is the one question I forgot to ask the trainer yesterday in between his other horses running - why has he never used the whip on this horse during training - if nothing else just to get her used to it - especially when I had told him what a sour little puss and spoiled brat she could be/had been...

We've talked about blinkers...but we keep coming back to the same questions...why would we put blinkers on her? She's not afraid of anything..she's not spooking at anything....she's not distracted by anything....the track is not a big track - its not really well attended so there is no real crowd th...

I'm not familiar with the term "morning glory" - I'm assuming it means a horse that trains great but doesn't want to race? She was a nut as a 2YO - literally had to send her home from the training farm - couldn't put a finish on her breaking because she was so fractious. So we turned her out some mo...

3YO filly not showing up on race day...suggestions, advice..

This is a cross post from one of the other boards here...no responses so I thought I'd post here too.... 3yo filly - good foundation under her, has been in training at the track since 3/20 of this year after 100 days on the farm training over the winter to "finish" her breaking and get her started. ...

suggestions for a 3YO that isn't showing up on race day

3yo filly - good foundation under her, has been in training at the track since 3/20 of this year after 100 days on the farm training over the winter to "finish" her breaking and get her started. She started gate work like a pro in May and never had an issue with the gate - not anything for that matt...
