Simply too much money involved in the stud game. Takes the race fan's "heroes" off the track too soon, and prevents most mid to smaller players from ever conciveably making a profit or even breaking even.

Came across this video today and it was called"horse joins tour de france"
Apparently it's not the tour de france and it's from 1997 but definately worth watching.

Love this horse's enthusiasm, just too bad he wasn't given directions.

thanks , but I think we have to stick to proven this time around, we already have used unproven sires more than we would like, mostly because proven ones are hard to come by in our neck of the woods.

We might consider something like During in the future if it's looks like a good fit.

Thanks henthorn, Interestingly the stallions/crosses you mention pretty much sum up what we have been looking closely at. As for Pioneering, we have considered him but thought that might be too closely inbred, not that 3x3 is too close but with the two siblings you almost have a 2x2 if you know what...

suggestions/analysis for tough to nick broodmares?

Hi all, been reading here a bit and thought maybe someone would have some interesting input. We have 2 mares that will likely go to kentucky this season. We breed to race, and are looking to spend about 5 - 10k on each breeding . Probably more towards the top end of that range for the older , proven...
