If you need to study are you really ready for the test? I understand if you are bad at test because of nerves.

It is just general horse knowledge with some racetrack questions added in. Mine was 100 questions and took 30 minutes. It was really easy.

It is way harder to go clean than not. To put a horse on Lasix you only need to wait 14 days and have a published work. To take off, you need to wait 30 days and work in front of the vet. Want to run you horse without a whip, have to go in front of the stewards and plead your case and maybe they wil...

I've never tried the One AC stuff, never needed too. A Guiness in their feed everyday. Had a filly that didn't sweat a drop and within a week would sweat normally. It has never failed yet.

The owners will think twice about who they put their horses with. Whether it's purposely or through carelessness, trainers that get consistent suspensions won't have to worry about having too many horses to keep up with. Not that the good ole U.S. will follow any of these new ideas.

My gelding chipped the top of his hind sesamoid, a large portion of it. I gave him time off and brought him back and it has never bothered him in the least. My vet said that he has seen a lot of chipped hind sesamoid and they didn't pose a problem. If she is worth it, give her the time and bring her...

Nasty breakdown they just showed at Golden Gate along with another eased in that race.

I saw the track at Santa Anita on HRTV today. The first time I have seen them floating a synthetic track.

Really it is a lot of the same trainers, other than the "good" outfits that come in for AP.

Poly vs Dirt in IL

Here is link to an article with the number of deaths at AP compared to Hawthorne, Hawthorne has to run in the worst months of the year and gets the tired, worn out horses in the winter months. http://www.barntowire.com/2007/HAWnotes070910.html Through 121 racing days, comprising the fall meet of 200...

By my view horse people use the word "fresh" as a codeword for lack of exercising or racing their animals. That's how I take the word. Different that bringing a conditioned horse in. I like to race against "fresh" horses. It isn't code word for lack of fitness. FActs are that a fit horse doesn't lo...

I just don't get how we had horses that were tough both mentally and physically back in the day and now it seems they are so fragile. Take a look at a Stymie picture, who ran 131 times. Compare it to the oversized blimps with quarterhorse builds of today. No kidding!!! I often wonder if the "juice"...

I think people all do things a little different. When you have higher class horses the races just don't go that often, but the cheap horses there are always races. All of mine except for my guy that runs allowance/stakes have started at least 10 times this year. They all started running in March and...

Tapeta - Presque Isle

Two days of racing, two breakdowns.

I heard the track is a disaster, from the descriptions sounds a little like when Great Lakes Downs opened up(the facilities). The on track handle is horrible.
