I took it to mean Straight Flush's previous owner had posted him on an auction site for livestock because he felt bad he had taken him to the feedlot? There is a longer story somewhere that gives more detail and has a lot of pictures of Straight Flush and the cowboy who owns the ranch where he lives.

She was riding Media Plan, and if anyone remembers he was a tough old gelding who ran in Northern California until he was about 12.
