Thoughst on these fillies pedigrees
I'm looking at purchasing one of these two fillies to race and possibly breed with my stallion Ingot down the road. I'd like some opinions on their pedigrees. Both fillies are by Porto Foricos but one is out of Conservative Lady and the other out of Lady Josephone. Thank You!

Working vacations on Kentucky farm?
I'm wondering if anyone knows if any tb farms in Kentucky have people come for short working vacations? I know it happens in some other horse disciplines.

Thank you Maven and Brendan for your replies. I really appreciate it because I know that pedigree advice is a livliehood for some folks on this forum and that the information you gave me is worth good money. Speaking of money, yes this stallion venture is pricey! I just got off the phone with AMEX a...

Best mare families for my stallion
We will be standing our own stallion for 2008 in Ontario, he is Ingot who is by Seeking the Gold and out of Catinca by Storm Cat. His picture on this website doesn't do him justice and I'll post some new pics soon. Anyway, my primary goal is to breed to my own mares and I want to breed to race more ...

I wouldn't go with the "Backyard Racehorse" methods becuase I think she needs more consistency and speed work. Not every horse can gallop only 3 days a week and be race fit..... !!! I am a big fan of the "Backyard Racehorse" book but I agree with you about the speed element. My question is, if you ...

My experience is that most of the equine classifieds that are search-able, have a selection you can make, either for sale, for stud, or for lease. You would simply select "for lease". There are tons of sites, Equine.com, Equinehits.com, Dreamhorse.com, Equinenow.com are just a few with this capabil...

Most of the ones I've seen have been online advertisements, either on sale web sites or on a farm's personal web site. We do some of that, and we mostly advertise on our own web site and in local Thoroughbred publications. What general area are you looking in? Maybe someone here can help you find s...

Leasing broodmares?
Could someone please let me know how I would find owners who would lease out mares. I've been having problems in my search. Maybe it's too uncommon a practise?

How are stud fees set?
How does a stallion owner determine a stud fee for a first-timer? I have read a few theories but would like to hear from you all.
