Re: interesting prediction

Sir Barton: That's an interesting prediction and over the last 10 years some pace setters in the Derby were nothing more than early speed types that could grab the lead and then fade out of the money. Certainly with their absence the pace scenario may become different. However, last year it was Bod...

With the new point system there will be less early pace in the Derby over the next few years. The derby will have a more normal pace scenario that will favor early speed types more than the last twenty years. The speed duels will take place in the Derby preps where I will be playing more closers in ...

When is the last time a race has lived up to the hype? Great race by Blame. I wish him the best at stud and if he gets horse of the year so be it. In the end he will always be the answer to a trivia question for the legions of fans Zenyatta brought to the game I love. Good night sweet girl, thank yo...

I am possibly the worst offender. I have a favorite bartender at the keeneland sales who swats me with a catalog when I butcher petitionsville or speetstown. My favorite mispronunciation was at thistledown where my friend and I were discussing the attributes of a young jockey named Desmoreau when we...

Giants Causeway is almost as useless a dirt sire as AP Indy is a turf sire. GC progeny can win on dirt but it appears that they have to be so superior to their competition just to eek out a win on the surface. I have no idea why owners continue to try running them on dirt.

You will be shocked at how small it is, but it is nice. The beaches at Presque Isle are less than 1/2 hour from the track and are as nice as you can find on the great lakes.

Thanks for the heads up Sysonby. I would have never guessed it was named after a horse. He was also a leading sire once. I was on a bit of a rant this morning but still believe its innocuous name is deceptive to less informed owners.

We will never know if the best horse won this years Kentucky Derby or if the horse with the best reaction to Winstrol won the race. I am sure the first three letters of WINstrol were not a random selection of letters. I am also sure that Equipoise was named for the owners who would rather not give t...

Has a foal of Better than Honour ever lost a race at belmont  I read that this is a prep for the belmont however he finishes. Has a horse ever won the belmont off only two races? Some well bred horses in this one, that crooked little Tomicito might beat them all.

I played football and wrestled in college in the late 80' and early 90' I did steroids and so did alot more people than you could probably imagine. Hi Louis, I was wondering how BBJ was put together, he raced wide throughout used most of the final turn and was stumbling and bumbling all through the strech. This horse has a ton of heart was it his action or just exhaustion that took its toll in the lane.

Anyone going to be at Keeneland Tuesday night?

I am taking my father to Keeneland for the first time this week so it would be a good time to put a face to a screen name.
