I understand Madelyn's post, and fully support her decisions. And in no way would I take someone supporting her decisions to be criticism of mine. I would like to clarify that the person who ended up with Andy paid 5 figures before I allowed her to ship him to her location and there was every indica...

I was alerted to this post, so I guess it's time to just get the story out there and have it be done. In 2009, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and I was in the middle of a career change. The market had turned, and I just felt that my finances and time wouldn't allow me to keep moving towa...

So glad to hear he's safe and well!! If it makes you feel better (and gives you a good laugh!), my Buckskin mare spooked when she saw the crowd in one of her first races, ditched her rider and finished without him. (And yes, you'd think from the things I read that no non-dilute TB had ever lost a jo...

Any word on what happened? We watched the video, and were excited to see him doing so well in the early part of the race... but it looked like he was pulled up and didn't finish?

Is he ok? Wishing good thoughts to Beyond Blonde and all his connections!

I have a story to add to his "colorful" history. His dam, Brightest Gold, is a buckskin who is registered as a bay. Her sire is Bright White, the white TB stallion who was mis-labled by the JC as a grey. She has a really odd color. She could pass as a bay at a distance, but has a lot of nearly trans...

Truly is announcing that the International Stud Book committee added Cremello as an officially recognized color, and Electrum was issued the first TB papers to ever have "cremello" as the color. Prior to this, cremellos have been registered as Palomino (the color the US Jockey Club put on Electrum's...

Actually, while the owner would LOVE the sell Goldhaven for $100,000, I think it's an "attention grabber" He has invested a great deal of time and effort in his training, and really wants to continue to own and train him through his racing career. He's actually trying to solicit partners/investors. ...

I highly recommend A&J Transport. They are a small, family company located in PA.

Mike is an amazing guy, and might have some ideas about where your guy could stay while getting paperwork in order.

Not all plasma is created equal. It's common on farms with a history of Rhodococcus to give all foals plasma with appropriate antibodies. I believe the normal protocol is to give "specific antibody plasma" at birth, and again at 30-45 days. You might ask what kind of plasma is being administered.

There is a point in gestation (approximately 60 days) where the fetal development of males and females has a visible differentiation. If your vet is experienced, s/he can certainly come close to 100% accuracy if they ultrasound the fetus during the appropriate window. If your vet is trying to do thi...

The only thing that is proven is that dreamhorse.com caters to disciplines other than racing. There is no doubt that TB's are capable of other things than racing but those things play a very small part in relation to the TB industry and the money spent in it. This is getting WAY off the topic of "c...

So, if the QH registry does not allow too much color in the face or on the body it means thay are ignorant? The AQHA website indicates that this rule was repealed in 2004. This would suggest that they've gained better understanding of the difference between a genetic defect (Lethal White syndrome) ...
