Strike the Gold Broodmare

Son and DIL have a Strike the Gold broodmare they are considering selling. She has beautiful progeny, a yearling colt and a weanling filly, both by Orville 'n Wilburs. Her name is Bequia Tequila. She's a beautiful mare, well tempered and an excellent broodmare.

Any input about her desirability?

Great post Madelyn. I sold my mare last year to a wonderful young eventer who is bringing her along slowly and conscientiously. They're meshing extremely well and I couldn't be happier. She's a special mare: they are truly a team, much as you've described. Finding the right horse is a lot like findi...

If anyone who supports Michael Gill would like to take on COTH, go for it! Lest you think that is merely a rumor mill with a penchant for bashing Michael Gill for sport, you are mistaken. There are many informed, knowledgeable, experienced horsepeople on COTH and they will take you down in a New York...

Interesting that you should post this information now as I was wondering about Mr. Fantasy just yesterday. Glad to hear he's back in training and quite an honor has been bestowed on him as well. Congratulations! As for Twice Forbidden, hope she gets in foal this year. Pretty impressive creds to be a...

Don's babies are really nice. Sal posted only one pic on the NY Breeder's sight, but he (Don) was quite prolific this season. Don was always a great horse to handle, although I was never on his back. The day he won the NY Derby gave me the greatest day of my life! (with apologies to my kids...yeah, ...

I know what a MILF is! Didn't, however, until someone referred to me as one!

El Camino, Was Affirm Promise a buy back? I spent quite a bit of time with her Tale of the Cat filly, Kitten's Tale, who is pretty as a picture but the poster child for Murphy's Law. She's had sooooo many medical issues, starting with deep tracts of infection in her chest that may have been the resu...

Trainer at Finger Lakes

I'll not comment on the snarky comment about the possibility that there are no "excellent" trainers at FL. I've been on the backside of that track, in various capacities, for many years. There are, indeed, many excellent trainers/horsemen there. Some of them are also good, honest people who do right...

Is this stallion marketable?

I have on layup a 4 y.o. son of Pulpit out of a Deputy Minister mare. He has a left front ankle injury that will preclude him from returning to the racetrack. He is approx. 16.2 hh (maybe bigger), dark bay, handsome. He moves freely on his bad leg and has normal stud tendencies, but is easy to handl...

thanks for the reminder! I'm right here and "know" the Derby is tomorrow but it could easily have left my mind while busying myself doing something useful and important, like checking my horse-related BBs!

I heard second-hand that she either stepped on a rock or dislocated her stifle. She's still in her stall at the track. I"ll let you know when I get more infor.
