I think anxiety also has to do with the stress of the environment and conditions around them.. i.e. horses being herd bound having abandonment issues stemming from the past.. horses that can be aggressive with feed having a complicated past about feed and herd dynamics, etc. But others can be nervou...

I don't believe (even if Sec. was on steroids) back then they are anywhere near as medically advanced as they are today. smaller doses, stronger results, synthetic style medication..

If he runs well without it- then it just proves they aren't that great. If he does poorly without a nasal strip then the company can acclaim success and you'll see every horse wearing them. I agree it may "open the airways" by just making it easier for a horse to take in more air with less effort. H...

racing will always be around if there is money to race for. Horsemen will ship to different track-to different track just like a circus every year. The money will always be at the sales because horses are worth what ego's pay for them. If you want it, you buy it. It's an attitude that comes with bei...

The same with just about every story in horse racing these days when presented by the media. We are all SO down and out, about to the lose the farm, our worlds crashing in on us until the moment when there is poof! a G1 winner.. I suppose it is all supposed to the feel-good stories that get people i...

fact of the matter. Breeders are not going to stop using those lines, FB, NFB, !, 2, 10, 12 .. doesn't matter there is more money involved today than 40 years ago. 40 years ago a horse had to run to make it's owner/breeder a pay check. These days they need to show up once or twice at the sale and in...

even a son of Sunday Silence doesn't get any respect in the USA. Most stallions (most) who go to Japan/China/Russia/SaF/NZ/Aust are well supported each year by a stud farms own mares and they have a very high percentage of horses who actually go onto race.

An Athlete will always have more of an opportunity to make more money over an highly educated person. It is why pro athletes make more money than teachers, etc.

what has the Preakness taught us..

You don't need to play by the rules and can multiple therapeutic med violations but still get to the TC

You don't need to graduate high school to earn over $100k in 2 weeks in this game. And this has been proven over and over again..

Sad but true.

[quote="louis finochio"]Those breeders of FB that will be sold, are kept in hot house pens before the sale. As these breeders dont want their FB to have an accident running around in large paddocks. If those FB have strong bones, those breeders would not hot house their FB before sale time...
