Median and average way up over 2011. Same with NorCal sale. Average and median way up.

Does it indicate an upswing in prices for the future do you think?

Triple Crown Horse?

So is I'll have Another a triple crown horse? Looked like he wanted more ground.

That would be a story : no 3 crown horse since 1978, then a 15-1 shot does it?

Your thoughts?

What I don't understand is why a horse like this with serious neurological disorder can't be put down humanely, without condemnation for those who would support it. the chances of a horse like this having long term caring owners over many years is slim. And, if the horse is not rideable, he may be d...

Thanks, Oleo,

I will pass the confidence along!

He is a true horseman, and just crazy enough to do this. We will see.

Good time to train?

Here is a question. A friend is near retirement but young, 58. Trained on small tracks for 25 years or so, but always part time because of where he lived. He can retire now, and wants to move to Northern Cal., and train a few of his own horses. His question to me is: with short gates, fewer horses, ...

Tap,

I don't recall Tesio talking about regenerating the energy of a race mare. Where do you find that in his writings?

What I read is racing depletes that energy, then its gone.

You have got to love those 2 yo sales - they're great, just read the ads about them. Just don't look at the facts.

Breezing yearlings, then 2yos in 10 and change doesn't hurt a thing.

Talk about big junk yards, - explore carefully about any 2y0 consignor. One in ten, on a good year.

Genetics much less important than the individual.

Tesio was right.

Jeanine Sahadi doesn't see to be entering. Is she still training in SoCal?

Chantel Sutherland

Chantell doesn't seem to be getting the rides she did last year. Some trainers have dropped her, others put her on long shots.

Why the change?

Mares' race records

Interesting breeding philosophy at play here. For many of the horses in the sale, the sire was much stronger than the mares' performance record, but not stronger than their breeding. Seems race records of the mare were not as strong as with most sales featuring these sires. Frankly, I like the idea....

True, funny post, but I still wonder why so little activity.

Are horsemen and women fewer these days, who are interested in the TB?

Seems much less activity on this forum?

Haven't been here for a while, but checking the last few weeks, it seems there is much less activity on this forum than a few years ago.

Is that observation correct? If so, I wonder why?
