Curious Clover

Kind of new topic.

Rachael Alexandra's markings reminded me of Curious Clover.

Does anyone remember her?

Just adding my 2 cents. In book L.J. Rose of Sunny Slope, pg 112, "father bred Camilla Urso to imported Creighton, this produce was the filly Armida" pg 141, "Mr Hancock M. Johnston....embarked in the breeding of trotters. Purchasing ...the thoroughbred imported Creighton...." pg 166, "The horse was...

Hermoso

Thanks Pan.. That seems to be the horse. I assumed he was black. The horse Lexingtor, was bought as a weanling by Baldwin in 1876. He won or placed in 6 of 7 starts earning $230. Baldwin did not get the horse he was hoping for. So it is interesting to see him in Hermosos pedigree. Thanks for everyth...

This is a black Thoroughbred stallion, Hermoso, in California, o/b McGarvin stables, Los Angeles, CA @1893, raced at Ingleside Race Track, San Francisco 1897-1901. I think he could be of Lucky Baldwin breeding. He is not on the DB. Does anyone have information about early California TB? I would appr...

THE RHYMER

This is just a little bit of information. He was a victim of pneumonia early in life so almost didnt make it. He was the first horse to recieve a blood transfusion. He recovered but was unable to race until he was 3. He won the Widener Challenge 1942. He was looked down on by big money racers but pr...
