I like our little bullring because it is different. I can ship to any others I want too if I feel the need. Sure turf would be nice but as I said I can ship. There is nothing like being that close for the casual fan and with ALW races for almost 40K we get some good shippers in. Every track has a b...

jainct I agree this gelding has a long way to go before he'll be a threat in the WV Classics. Maybe in 2010. Actually I was talking about him being a 7,8,9 furlong horse rather than 4 1/2 furlong horse. Both of his races thus far have been at 4 1/2 and we are going to try to get him in 6 1/2 MSW fo...

Damn, jainct!! I looked up Russell Road and you have an awsome gelding there.. How about the WV Derby?? Can't continue to allow those Eastover Court geldings continue to dominate that race. griff I don't know about the WV DERBY (750K) but anything is possible. I would think he's going to be tough a...

DDT Thanks. We tried to get him in the 7 furlong MSW on 12/31/08 but he came in second alternate.. I'm pretty sure he's going to be a classic and we'll wait for a 6 1/2 ot 7 furlong next time. If that race last night had been a 5 1/2 he would have been second. However nothing could have caught Gabr...

THANK YOU!!!!! I just found out through a conversation with his old owner that she'd had his brother (well 1/2) at her house as well and before she knew about our facility had sent him to someone else. I wish i'd gotten his name but she's looking into trying to find out where he is to see if there ...

Update--my friends who owned (small share) the horse (Post Exchange--I guess revealing his identity couldn't hurt any now) DID just give me a check for my share of his claiming proceeds...which I wasn't expecting. As I detailed before on this thread, they lost $$ on him and I was only expecting a c...

Re: Philly Park Trainers
Who are trustworthy/capable trainers at Philly Park? For Claimers from 10 to 35k? Hello da hoss: Trustworthy for sure would be Patricia Farro and her husband Mike. They do quite well with claimers. Another 3 names to mention would be Randy Allen, Guadalupe Preciado and Ramon Preciado. If you need p...

TJ From what Ive seen they fill well. Entered a few at Charlestown and we were excluded because our papers are in KY. Its almost worth shipping 9 hrs to run as opposed to running at Turfway for no money Tuc Nice look on that Shes All Eltish Hello Foggytrip: Don't get overly excited about CT. It's n...

Re: Horse partnerships with trainers
I have been noticing a trend recently... maybe it's been around but i'm young. that trend is a trainer going in on a young horse with a group of people and ovbiusly leaving that horse to train with the trainer IMHO there are a lot of beneifts for the trainer and not enough beneifts for the owner. ....

Playwithfire You are correct when you say that there are instances where using Beyer figures are helpful. In March of 1997 I wrote an article for American Turf Monthly concerning Beyer figures that was prompted by the statement by Beyer that "A superior wagering situation arises when a horse's last...

Getting back to DDT's question about Beyers as a day-in, day-out handicapping tool, it's hard for me to answer that because as DDT writes, I'm more of a situational, or "angle" player. I question the validity of Beyers when they will change based on how horses return from a race that has already ea...

At hollywood park, a filly named ingrid the gambler by Joannesburg, trying turf for the first time and never finished off the board or worse than 2 lenghts back on dirt, in a MSW, was going off at about 8 to 1, against fillies who had for the most part proven they couldn't win. won for fun. 18 bucks...

I think you have that wrong. Your horse took the lead about the 1/16 pole and the winner was Morada Key who came 10 wide on the turn and closed determinely under brisk urging to get up with Mark Guidry aboard. Your horse that day was the favorite and the winner went of at 32-1. He might be referrin...

jainct, I just got back from a 15 day vacation from the bahamas, and I'm on my way to Hot springs later tonight so that I can stay down there for the live meet at oaklawn. I don't have to come on line to spout my daily picks to prove my "worth" to anyone.. also if you go back and read my post's I'v...
