Could be camphor and oil. It's for breathing, and also has a calming effect, but it's usually a muscle shot, not directly into the throat. Very old school, but some trainers still use it. Some trainers inject clenbuterol directly into the throat, but most have decided that it doesn't do any good. Da...

The product you're looking for is One AC , and it works far better than beer. It's best if you can give the horse about two weeks off, or extremely easy training when you first start giving the powder. Some studies done by the inventer have also shown that it works best if given in conjunction with ...

Thanks, everybody. If Shenandoah is that bad, then probably Charlestown is out. I'm really picky about where I keep the horses, and the racing secretary said that stalls are full on the grounds. It was just a thought, though. We've got one filly that would fit in there really well, so we'd considere...

Charlestown training centers?

I am looking for any available training centers near Charlestown Racetrack in West Virginia. I've heard about Shenandoah, but can't find a contact number for them. Anyone know of any, and how to contact them?
Thanks.

Young Broodmare prospect in Florida

Ashley Marie is a gorgeous 4 year old bay Thoroughbred filly by Dawn Quixote out of Lipinsky. She has some black type in her second dam, and would make a great broodmare for the right program. She stands 16.1 tall, and has a wonderful disposition. She ships well, and is willing to do anything you as...

Most tracks use a date system to determine who gets to run, and who winds up on the also eligible list. The date is based on when your papers are put into the office, and when the horse ran last, or was scratched. Horses who best fit the conditions of the race always get first preference, though.

Racehorse equipment

Blinkers come in several different cup styles, cup being the part that goes around the eye. Among others, there is a half cup, a full cup and a french cup is a very tiny cup, which allows for a large amount of side vision. I'd have to measure ours to be certain, but I'm thinking the actual width of ...

Puetts are the best thing going, as far as gates. They are a bit more expensive than the other brands, but they're far safer, and last forever with good care. The gates we have at our farm are a set of 4 horse Puetts, and as far as safety and quality of workmanship, I wouldn't buy anything else. You...

In order to get a gate card, the horse must load well into the gate and stand quietly, regardless of what is going on around him, until the starter springs the gate. When the gates open, the horse must break alertly, clean and straight, and generally breeze for at least 1/8 mile before pulling up. (...

You generally expect gate works to be slower than regular works, and posted gate works are always from a closed starting gate. Races are always timed from the first pole past the gate, rather than from the gate itself. The distance from the gate to the pole varies, but not by too much. They have to ...
