I like the show.....the massive amount of commercials are a pain though!! In the last show, the one thing I found odd was when the male apprentice won his first race they "initiated" him with cold water and eggs. However, when the girl from Australia won her first race they didn't show the "initiat...

You're right, Ascot. A MAJOR housecleaning is required, but it is my understanding that existing management and the Economic Development Committee are quite buddy buddy. I hope the OLG and the Province (who still have to provide the money to do this) think very carefully about this proposal, and pu...

I'm sorry to see Impeachment leave Ontario. At least I got a beautiful Impeachment filly before he left.

Good broodmare prospect for only $1,000?

I'm looking for some thoughts on this filly who is coming off the track that has been brought to my attention. She's Crafty Posse (link below). I would be looking at a foal to race as I know she's not a commercial prospect.

[quote="KBEquine"]Just a note - Godstone is for sale. No guarantees that it will sell soon & it could also go to someone who would keep it a TB breeding facility & Judith as the manager.

Thanks for the heads-up that it's for sale.

Looking for stallion station recos

I'm looking to send my stallion off farm for the 2009 season and I'm hoping for suggestions on reputable stallion stations known for good care, promotion, etc. Ideally would like to keep him in Ontario but will also consider certain US states. I don't know if going about it via a web forum is wise, ...

Does anybody have an update on the situation - charges/names? Jenny - any new news? I haven't heard squat over this locally and I live less than 10 minutes from the farm where the horses were seized. I only found out about from this thread.

Did anybody see #479 (by Grand Slam)? He's out of my stallion's 1/2 sister Catbaby and I'm curious about him and where he went. I see he was bought for $140,000.

I'm so sad to have read the news of larrygene's passing. He was so very helpful to me when I had questions about entering the business with a stallion. He gave me valuable advice and encouragement. He will be missed.

Re: Pasture breeding

I know there was a discussion about the pros and cons of pasture breeding earlier this year so I tried to find it and add this but couldn't find it. But as a sign of what the world is coming to: I have a stallion turned out with some mares. Been turned out together for months, have had other stalli...

Cross Creek made 6 starts over two years of racing and had one place and one show. It might be reasonable to make an excuse for her, but what about her siblings? Moving up one level, there is only one "good" horse, by Run Dusty Run. Since Cross Creek seems to have been from a family of very questio...

My brother and I stand G2 millionaire Tejano Run (2nd Derby, 3rd BC Juvenile), currently 2nd in Ontario, not that anyone up here would know or care. Once his 1st crop of Ontario foals start running next year he should be raking in even more money. And maybe people will notice, since G3 winners at H...

This mare intrigues me - should I buy?

I saw this mare for sale on an equestrian site and would be curious to hear your opinions. Her name is Cross Creek http://www.pedigreequery.com/cross+creek2 What has caught my eye is the 3x3 to Inca Queen and that female family. Any thoughts on her pedigree along with a mating to my stallion Ingot? ...
