He got the bow on 9/16. When they looked at him at the track they were under the impression it was 3 months old and not 2. They palpated him and he did not react and he walked and trotted sound. He was not being wrapped. He had a 4+ hour trailer ride and came off slightly sore and slightly warm. Tha...

Woody is feeling better everyday. I am pretty sure he had ulcers, I did not have him scoped but he responded positively with malox and he has started eating better. We also put him on some supplements to help his muscles heal and he is getting less body sore. I adopted another guy off the track a we...

Fair Play, great thing to mention! when I was a kid I had an OTTB that NEVER got used to cross tying! He would set back and break them and I owned him for 12 years. I asked Woody's trainer and she said she did not know, so we have been introducing them and watching. Luckily we have a wash stall with...

Thanks everyone! I have had my share of off the OTTB's and young TB's, but this is the first guy I have got JUST after a race. He seamed fine the day after, than he got a bit stiff and off his food a little bit. I figured maybe after a race he had a little "help" with this so I just wanted to know w...

I just picked up a horse at Sufolk on Saturday. He is a 6 y/o gelding and raced an hour before he got on the trailer to start his new life. He is sound (was before the race) but gets stiff after per his trainer. What is the routine in general for a horse after running. How many days of rest, walking...

Color question, Palomino foal...turn grey?

I have a palomino colt. The dam is chestnut, not sure what color her parents are. The sire is grey, his dam is grey and sire is palomino. The dam foaled a palomino baby ( we had been told there was about a 25% chance of that. My question is, if the dad passed on his dilute/cream gene, can the foal s...

She is off the track...but a LONG time ago. The only "jewery" she has from that career is an enlarged ankle, but it has not bothered her, If...
