Re: One more to add to Dutrow's list

Had a horse run on Friday at Belmont rested 2 days and ran at Monmouth today and it broke down :( :( :( :( Love to hear him explain his logic behind this one! I think the "logic" behind it would be that he has had a great deal of success with this move over the years. Some horses can do this. Not a...

Please tell me you've named him Pollywantsacracker. OK, on a more serious note, I've been around a few parrot mouths and really haven't had much trouble. You say "severe" so the teeth will wear differently and you'll have to keep on top of that, but I bet you've already figured that out. I've heard ...

So, it turns out that Spitzer and New York Racing both have something in common.

They both got f***ed.

This seems like big news. Baffert got caught for EPO?

I was waiting for someone else to comment, but apparently all that Old English Rancho breeding was too much for them to take. I'm not going to look up any numbers; you could do that or someone else could. I can tell you that I took care of three of the stallions listed in this pedigree. That alone w...

Were you frightened by a paymaster when you were a small child? I realize you put some time and effort into this suggestion so I'll be serious for a moment. Just a moment. Just 1.63% of a moment. OK. Sorry. A couple of thoughts: I don't think 10% is enough for third; I think 1% is too much for seven...

Well, I think there's a basic problem with the California breeding industry: namely, the idea seems to be to breed non-commercial mares to non-commercial stallions and then - and this is my favorite part - put the resulting foals in commercial venues with high expectations and even higher reserves. ...

I kept waiting for someone to explain but after 70+ views no one has. Why post Hollywood Park notes from a year and a half ago? It was like time travel, only less exciting.

OK, apexseal, what have you learned from this? Well, probably that there can be a wide range of opinions on the same horse. That's why they have sales and that's why some people are going to buy some, um, interesting horses. I don't want to rain on your parade. At the same time, apparently I disagre...

I don't think this is a bad picture, but rather an excellent view of back-at-the-knee, a serious conformation fault. If you want the critique to continue, I'd say she's also straight thru the shoulder (as well as a bad hind leg - too straight, not enough angle) and she appears to have short upright ...

I don't know what a nick is. I think it's something you get when you're shaving. But let's just say you believe that certain sires have an affinity for certain female families. I think those would be included in "quality" attempts. What I was speaking of in particular, though, is a mare who has been...

Of course it depends on the budget. I'd look at yearlings with a more fashionable pedigree if I had a large budget, but if my budget is small I don't want to see the offspring of high-priced stallions. You're better off buying the best Patton than the cheapest Storm Cat. That said, what I don't want...

Thanks for the link to the pictures! It's tough to tell without watching her walk but those knees appear offset, just not as much as I would have thought considering her family. She looks like a willing sort in the photos . . . so, are you leasing? Or adopting? Or whatever it is?
