Re: Kentucky Derby 2022

I'm still in shock

That insane pace def. set it up for the deep closers.

The talking heads were all about the need to be up close.

A nice feel good story on the connections of Strike Rich.

Blue collar horseman toiling away running at Belterra, MVR, Turfway etc.

Re: Justify Sidelined

I agree in we probably won't see him on the racetrack again.

A real shame as I would have liked him to take on his elders in the Classic.

Re: Osare

I put a small win bet on her along with some back up place and show. Mostly just because of the sibling thing. Her being by Medaglia d'Oro, and we all know he can get a good filly, she very well could be a special one. She really put on the after burners in the last quarter. :23 2/5 for the last qua...

Osare

Younger half sibling to Arrogate appreciated the stretch out to 10f and got up at the wire to score at 6-1 in her career second outing.

Reckon it will be on to stakes company next for this filly.

Re: Triple Crown winners and names

Charismatic. Yes, that was a good name. The two TC spoilers in Touch Gold and Victory Gallop had great names.

Re: The 150th Running of The GR I Belmont Stakes

Justify is certainly going to have to earn it. Solid field for the Belmont. Though I would love to see another TC winner, I'm working myself up to take a stand against him.

Re: Triple Crown winners and names

As we get ready for the final leg of the Triple Crown I decided to share my take on the names of the winners. Looking at the 12 Triple Crown winners to date, 10 had regal names befitting the accomplishment, Omaha and Whirlaway were the only winners that had rather ordinary names. It can be said tha...

At Churchill Downs now. Not raining at this moment. Track loks to have a bit of moisture, but looks fast, and listed as fast.

Re: Saturday's Stakes at CD

It did rain most the night, but it was a light rain. It's not raining now, but it does look pretty gloomy. My guess is non stakes races on the turf will be taken off so they can save it for the turf stakes. That is what they did last year .

Re: The 144th Running of The Kentucky Derby

A few months ago I had a dream that it was a 17-4 Derby finish. I can see Flamaway running 2nd, but not too sure about Solomini winning it all. I might have to lay a small Exacta bet on 17-4 just to ease my mind.

Very deep crop of 3 year olds. Still weeding through pedigrees of them. Audible looked great in winning the Fla. Derby, but not so sure about his ability to get 10f. When watching the Gotham Stakes live, I wasn't all that impressed with Enticed. On watching replay a few times, I'm think i was a litt...
