Re: feed questions

I love the Mac n cheese idea! The Purina Race Ready is beet pulp based. That's a good idea and there are many other feeds with that approach. Southern States sells Pro Elite Performance that is similar to the Race Ready but with higher fiber (which I like.) At home (breeding stock and retirees) I fe...

Re: Chief Seattle Mares

I'm a bit surprised more don't show up. You may have looked through sales results but I find none sold in 2018-19, one in 2017, four in 2016, one in 2015, two in 2014...

Someone I know had a good score buying a mare in foal to Chief Seattle years ago so I always noticed his offspring.

Re: Steve Roman retiring

I wish I had printed a copy. Maybe someone else did?

It was an eloquent letter and as I recall expressed dismay over the current state of racing.

Re: Breaking/Training Yearlings

Hi -- might I make a plug? Virginia has started a "Virginia-certified" program starting with foals of 2016. If they reside in the state for six-months at a participating farm before the end of their two year old year, they will be eligible for owners bonuses when they race anywhere in the ...

Re: Need to find horses to sample before line is extinct

Son of Sand was indeed retired to be a show horse. Show name is Brunello. I have PM'ed his owner (on a different forum) to see if they can get in touch with you.

Re: Need to find horses to sample before line is extinct

I found a couple more offspring of Darla's Rush on Equibase. I have added them to PQ. Rush Haint Darla, 2000 mare by Haint, bred in FL by Meg Miranda and Jimmy Miranda, owned by Steve Epley Sr., trained by Steve Epley Jr. No offspring show up for her. Malfoy, 2001 mare by Wheaton, bred in NY by Denn...

Got the Moves was bred by someone local to me. I will try to find her number and PM you. I have no idea if she would still have either Got the Moves or his dam.

Re: Searching for Celestial Lady (2008)

A couple of other ideas --

Local horse magazines you could put a classified ad in:

horsetalkmagazine.com (VA, MD)

http://equiery.com/ (MD, surrounding areas)

midatlantictb.com (entire region)

Plus OTTB groups on Facebook (I am not on Facebook so don't know specific ones)

Re: Searching for Celestial Lady (2008)

I would recommend posting on the Chronicle of the Horse forums -- they have a "Missing Horses" section that gets a lot of views.

http://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/forum.php

You have to join but it is free, no hassle.

Good luck.

Re: F-T KY Mixed

A couple I will be watching --

60, Reservation Blues -- she was part of the Ned Evans dispersal. Liked her then, still a young mare.

77, Salama -- this mare ran in the 2015 BC Distaff. Saw her in person and she was GORGEOUS!
