I could have sworn I read somewhere that SS was jogged or did a lot of dressage stuff early because of, I believe, hind end weakness. Does anyone recall reading similar? Paula Turner (Billy's ex) broke Slew, nicknamed him Baby Huey, & used dressage to improve his general coordination & help...

Statistical odds are against his becoming a superstar, however people win the lottery against much worse odds. He ran a nice race, not shabby for his second time out. Matz did say he was a slow starter, and may still need some more experience. Nicanor will be interesting to follow. I was not a big B...

Someone put the race on youtube, quality's not the best, but some without access to paid sites may appreciate it.

Does anyone know the trainer?

He just claimed Mananan McLir, a nine year old who I've been following since 2003.

Chiselling has come down with EPM, his status is unknown. thanks, but read post #3 above. I had him tracked to a farm "near Lexington", but my contact disappeared. My last contact in regards to him was in the fall of 2005. As stated, Juddmonte is of no help in issues like this. They own the horses,...

Hopefully this grand old mare is OK. She has had a tough time her whole broodmare career. Juddmonte is notorious for not releasing any information. I have inquired several times about Chiselling, and recieve replies that they don't know or are not at liberty to say. I'm sure they do know. (he never ...

As of July 2004 at stud in South Africa, link to article here: http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/breeding-news/2004/June/17/Chiselling-half-brother-to-Empire-Maker-to-stand-in-South-Africa.aspx He never made it to M...

Chiselling was sent to South Africa to stand at stud. He belonged to Juddmonte farms who have his half brother Empire Maker. You could email them at stallions@juddmonte.com or try info@sahorseracing.com which is a South African horse web site. I don't think he ever got there. He was diagnosed with ...

For the sake of the horses and the breed I favor putting those hard knocking horses to stud instead of those fragile injury prone ones. I agree with you, but this sport/game/business/industry is focused on speed rather than longevity. Very few that recognize the name Danthebluegrassman will know an...

What I meant to ask is why he is not going to be a sire and stand at a stud farm instead of going to a horse rescue. A stakes winner like him usually gets to breed mares unless he is sterile. He was a stakes winner, but not for long. His sire Pioneering has produced some hard knocking horses, but I...

I am wondering why he did not get to breed mares like his half brother Now Voyager who only won once. The article did not say he had fertility problems. It said that he is a stallion. Because he has been in training, fairly steady for most of his life. He had a break of about a year from 4/04 to 4/...
