The story behind the Chapmans was very interesting. I was a little surprised to hear that Elliot's mount was ever in doubt. It also struck me as funny how the Chapmans responded to Servis and his Arkansas route to the Derby. It is very neat that Smarty resides in the very stall that once belonged to...

Fearless and Smarty Jones
Thank you for the heads up(your OLN link does work)- I just caught the midnight version- It was awesome- Smarty is greatly missed(what a horse). I toured Three Chimneys the day before the Derby and had the pleasure of checking Smarty out up close and personal- He is some specimen!

Hdimski- bitterness does not become you. Giacomo was the best horse Derby day- and a follow up win or place in the Preakness is not necessary for him to avoid your silly "fluke" label. Afleet Alex is who I'm pulling for and betting in the Preakness, but I would be super excited if Giacomo wins, and ...

Albert the Great
Any opinions on Albert the Great as a sire? Conformation? Value at 10K? Potential to sire a big horse?

Speaking of the crowd- 71,000 at Oaklawn Park(2nd largest crowd ever). It had an electric atmosphere with the grandstand packed and the infield open. It was really cool to see Jeremy Rose in the paddock after winning the Arkansas Derby-this kid(he hardly looks 20) has just won a million dollar race ...

Joe-Also, a horse like High Limit- would he be a horse with the potential to bounce with such a strong BSF in the La Derby? And a step further- What is the fewest number of career races run prior to winning the Kentucky Derby? I continue to hear that only two preps as a three year old leading up to ...

1. Consolidator- solid effort against a solid field. 2. High Limit- speed and the ability to relax-and Frankel. 3. High Fly- 4 wins in 5 starts. Zito. 4. Rockport Harbor-solid effort if only 65-70% after long layoff. 5. Afleet Alex-hopefully brings his A-game to the AR Derby-haven't given up on him.

Thank you for the info guys. The BSF of 95 was better than I expected(given the splits), but much lower than I would have anticipated going into the race. Rockport Harbor appears ready for a bounce in the Arkansas given his effort in the Rebel(very impressive). However, I'm curious what other horses...

Has anyone seen the BSF's for the Rebel?
