Re: The 140th Running of The GR I Preakness Stakes

Agree, geo. I think you have to go back 65 years to find a slower Preakness. Since the Preakness went to 1 3/16 miles in 1925, I think there were only a few dozen slower times in 90 chances. But, better than at least 2 Triple Crown winners is how some would look at it. Not me though. Perhaps the De...

Re: Who Misspelled “Pharaoh”?

Some similar error happened with an excellent horse named CLEV ER TELL, (CLEV_ER_TELL)
where an additional space character remained as part of his official name.

Re: Kentuckian

Kentuckian and his maternal grandsire! Wow, this looks like another huge power-stroke example
of the prospective role that Unbridled's Song is already exerting as a broodmare sire. Kentuckian
is also another fine example of how extraordinary this 2012 crop is unfolding.

Re: Native Dancer on top with his gray color on bottom

GRAND BILI (gr/ro c 2012) may qualify here because of Dancer's Image but be aware that he is also bringing up the gray gene of Junonia.

Re: American Pharoah

Congratulations to American Pharoah, who achieved a well earned victory. I was a little surprised on two things: 01. That the time went over the 2:02 minute mark, for such a group of superior horses, and 02. Given the slow fractionals adscribed to Dortmund and that he seemed relaxed during the race ...

Re: FROSTED: Triple Crown series hopeful

Frosted fourth place finish in the Derby was a very good effort. He proved he needs more
distance, but at the same time, if he competes against a smaller field he may compensate
the disadvantage of circling various horses and may race well. Who knows!

Re: Derby Prospect: Bolo

Here is another curiosity regarding Kentucky Derby aspirant BOLO: In Spanish, the term ''Bolo'' specifically means a rooster (or other corral bird) who was born without a tail. Here is a photo of a "bolo" rooster: https://supurbanfarm.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/araucana.jpg Several years ...
