northern califonia has maiden 8,000...and they can get pretty easy at the summer fairs. The Sonoma County fair has a new turf course coming up this year...maybe some cheap maiden claimers on the grass, with the small fields in NorCal..anything's possible.

no, he won't be training them. I would guess he'll probably use a guy like Tom Roberts. Roberts took a string of horses to Ohio for him, they work closely together for stalls, filling races & claiming horses in Northern California. Roberts has roots up in your neck of the woods.

a bit expensive, but effective is "Panalog" from your vet. Stay clear of Blue Kote as it seems to seal in the fungus. keep them dry and clean. good luck .

"Silky Sullivan" was a beautiful horse. I can remember him being on parade in front of the grandstand crowd at Golden Gate Fields in the '70's on "Silky Sullivan Day". The big chestnut knew all the attention was his and he was proud of it as he pranced to the fan's delight.
