Ziggy's Gem
Does anyone know what happened to Ziggy's Gem? Yesterday (July 16th, 2011) he won the sixth race at Ellis Park by four lengths and then had to be vanned off the track. His trainer is Martin Rouck, Owner Plum Lake Racing LLC. He is a four-year-old bay gelding by Medallist out of Senorita Ziggy. I hav...

Are people going to give these young sires a break when their offspring bomb at the sales in this crappy economy? Young sires are always judged by their sales $$s first and this year most prices are embarrasing (except for, you know, the biggest and baddest dogs). This'll sink the ship of plenty sma...

Call me a hopeless pessimist, but I just hope they can keep her all in one piece UP TO the KY Derby. Seems like these Juvenile Filly supergirls always fall apart and are retired/on the sidelines by the first Saturday in May- why, I don't know. Halfbridled. Sweet Catomine. I don't even remember who w...

I remember Kitten's Joy (I love the boy) had a chip removed from his knee after his championship season, he came back okay. No as good as he used to be, but he could still run :P Finished second in the Arlington Million about nine months after that surgery. So it's definately possible in some cases...

The GREAT (and strictly TURF) racemare All Along(Fr) was named Horse of the Year in 1983. Arguably...what she accomplished was nothing short of incredible. Clearly others agree, as she is immortalized in racing's Hall of Fame. Consider this...within a 6 week span she was victorious over all comers ...

Is it possible for him to get horse of the year? Simply put, no. Not to say it isn't theoretically possible, but in reality , no. Turf horses practically have to fly to the moon to make that happen. He hasn't won many times this year (once or twice? and once at a Gr. 1), and the dirt horses are ver...

An imaginary movie made by an imaginary film company on a Hollywood simulation game. Apparently, there are entire imaginary studios devoted to making imaginary movies now

I'm thinking back to Mineshaft, who caught the Eclipse without ever going to the "big dance" because he already had so many prizes. Of course, there's also Pico Central, who missed a close race for Eclipse because of skipping the BC Sprint. Hard to tell. (of course, between you and me, I would prefe...
