MR. COMMONS

Does anyone have any information about Mr. Commons' current status. He is an 8 year old intact horse last reported to be owned by Ian Banwell of St. George Farm Racing, LLC. Trained by John Shirreffs, but no works posted in nearly a year.

Re: Espinoza Whip Under Scrutiny

If anyone wants to bother to look it up, there are rules in Kentucky governing whip use. I don't have the exact quote, but I'm sure some of you do know how to look up rules in Kentucky. It was quoted elsewhere that the horse could be hit so many times, and then the horse had to be given an opportuni...

Re: Zenyatta's filly euthanized

BloodHorse produced two recent special features, one was a video, and the other was a "longform" article. The video notes the passing of the filly foal. It was my understanding that at the time the video was being developed, it was anticipated that it, or parts of it, would be shown during...

Re: Treve Brilliant Again In Second Arc Win

ARC - ENGLISH English version of the 2014 Arc, with pre- and post-race commentary. Race starts at 7:21 on the tape. Treve was brilliant. http://youtu.be/kNIg7DE3Pwg Loved the toughness of her trainer in insisting on putting Thierry Jarnet back on her. He knows this filly like no other.

Nana Beach breakdown - 12-29-12 - Race 4 Santa Anita

Would appreciate some perspective on this issue. Am I being naive, and is this just the way it is in the lower-level racing world? Nana Beach, 5yo f, has started 40 times and has never, ever won a single race. About 6 seconds, 10 thirds, under $100K, lifetime. Has started 11 times 2012, 3 seconds, 2...

Re: Any way to pay for streaming without gambling?

Time Warner Cable has NO horse racing programming where I am...and it's taking its toll. I looked into Twin Spires for the streaming--but one must bet a minimum of $50 per week, looks like. No thanks. 2 kids and a mortgage and gambling $50 a week? Can't do it. I know about Equibase replays, but kee...

I find it ironic and terribly telling that some of you have nothing better to do than to make fun of Zenyatta's fans! Have you checked out Istabraq's Facebook page, Mucho Macho Man, Dialed In, Animal Kingdom!!!! Makybe Diva checks in quite frequently and posts info she thinks everyone should know. A...

When you say get rid of all drugs are you including stuff for bleeders?? but more important for us Pogo fans, the qoute is: "We have met the enemy and he is us". griff Actually, not to put too fine a point on it, but I believe Pogo said: "We have done met da enemy, and he is us!" This came out, I b...

Can anyone address what adjustments to training would be necessary if/when race-day drugs are discontinued? I would assume that in Britain and other countries, they could shed light on what it takes to condition a horse so that he doesn't bleed after heavy exertion, like in a race. And what was diff...

Anybody think anything of Toby's Corner? He has never been off the board, is adding blinkers, and has an interesting pedigree. Well, Toccet02, you were very nearly clairvoyant! Haven't been out here in a while but wanted to see the reaction to yesterday's Wood. I'm hoping that one of the fallouts f...

Since Ellen Parker spent a long stint working at The Jockey Club on a rather large project for them, I'm guessing she might have access to some information which would lead to her conclusions about the horse you mentioned. I'm guessing it would not be the first time some question has surfaced about...
