Respectfully disagree with you BDW. Personally, I think this is about an athlete who has not lost the urge to compete and feels he has a chance to compete once again on his terms. PVAL and Sellers had very little to fall back on. Sellers a little more than PVAL. They were coming back as a full-time ...

http://www.horsetalk.co.nz/news/2009/06/047.shtml Don't know if this will work or not. You can also "google" Charasmatic horse slaughter. It is pretty obvious that you are referring to 2009 articles, or those whose basis is 2009. You can also try the below link from July 2011. Again, a quick "Google...

Black Tie Affair (Ire) Classic - 1991

It was a cold, miserable day weather wise... but his race and Arazi's Juve win made it so, so worthwhile.

Didn't run until Feb. (or so) of 2009. Trained by Assmussen, (at least for awhile). Ran at Fairgrounds and Churchhill. Believe he broke maiden at Churchhill in Mdn claimer. Was a $350,000 Saratoga Select Yearling. Mom was a grade III winner.

Obviously, was pretty well considered at one time.

C'mon LB... take the plunge, you can almost see the farm from your place. If memory serves, you are only separated by some little place across the street from you on Big Sink.

This would give you reason to expand your broodmare division. Of course, your house is probably nicer. :D

Glad to hear the steroid rules, which went into effect in 2008, are having an impact. It was really getting out of hand. Still think this might be a very significant reason for seeing "less advanced" horses at the sales now. As with everything else, it takes a couple years to see the real effect. Go...

Also... I forgot... in the event someone wants to point out that initially Keeneland canceled its July sale due to the reduced number of foals in the MRLS years. LB knows this much publicized reason, however she is simply stating one of the primary unpublicized reasons for its complete discontinuanc...

Hey LB and Madelyn! I agree with both of you concerning those Thanksgiving and Christmas foals. While I totally agree the "problem" was over-blown, it was still happening. While the total number of early surprises was probably low, the F-T July sale was THE place to sell them. Keep in mind, the inte...

Columbus Races are part of the Nebraska circuit. They run in late summer. Circuit includes Fonner and Lincoln.

Try this web site: www.horseracing.state.ne.us or if this doesn't work, try googling nebraska horseracing.

Good luck.

Those were boos... actually "BOO"... which is Calvin's nickname that he has had forever. I am so incredibly happy for Calvin. While I haven't seen him in a few years, (about the same time as my departure from the business), I doubt he has changed much. He was always a really fun guy to be around, in...

Actually, to me, it would be a complete shock if Line of David hit the board in the KY Derby. Everyone is giving the horse all kinds of credit, and he did prove game, however where is the love for the ride Jon Court gave him. When he got the lead I thought he would be cooked by 1/2 mile... then I no...

Pretty certain Arkansas Derby is to be run on that Saturday. That is and pretty much always has been the biggest day of racing in Arkansas. Oaklawn is almost always near capacity on that day. There would be little to gain for the track or the community if they held it on Saturday. This race on Frida...

Actually, a tip of the hat should go to Angus at Taylor Made and Keith Crupper of Whispering Oaks Farm near Paris. They helped get this from the prior owner in Canada to the current ownership group. Keith used to post here every so often, and some people on here boarded horses with him. While the tr...
