Re: Black color
Jockey Club registerable coat colors are almost entirely inaccurate from my experience, aside from the obvious grey, chestnut, and bay. Dark bays/browns and blacks are regularly misidentified. Cremellos, perlinos, smoky creams, buckskins, and smoky blacks, although evident genetically in the Thoroug...

Re: Palomino's
I will have a 2021 foal by Friend or Foe, 50% chance at being palomino. Foal will be out of O'Golden Fair Rose out of Gin Ruler. Not sure performance history on those currently out there. Most are being bred as sporthorses, not racehorses.

How did we get painted Thoroughbreds?
DISCLAIMER: This is an informational post about how FRAME OVERO Thoroughbreds developed, though it definitely has some biased opinion supporting colored Thoroughbreds, as neutral as I tried to be. My intention is not to make people mad, but inform them threw as much research as I had time for. Pleas...

Re: This horse look a roan
Actually, a purebred brindle TB by the name of Catch a Bird (NZ) is a sire of several true roan thoroughbreds. Winning Colours Farm in Australia actually owned a couple of his roan fillies (Slip Catch and Lilac Hill) for a period of time before selling them after producing, from what I know of, at l...

I actually saw him this past summer. He was definitely looking his age, but he was a remarkable horse nonetheless. A great horse indeed.

Re: Colored Thoroughbred to stand at Calumet Farm
I agree. There are plenty of colored thoroughbreds out there that have proven themselves. Why Risque? Remarquez has proven himself far more than Risque, and his sons are already at the track. Hidden Remarq is scheduled to race tomorrow, October 6 at 1:45 at Finger Lakes in NY. We'll see how he does....

Re: Diamilina: How do you explain this case?
First off, many solid colored foals out of greys tend to be grey at birth, or shed out to be grey. If he is bay with no grey roaning at a few years old, he is probably not going to be grey. Some, though, do tend to grey as they age. Grey is a tough color, so it is best to test horses from grey paren...
