Emporia made it from PA and arrived in TX this a.m. She is very pretty and a well balanced mare. Griff, I will look into AR probably next year. I didn't mention that I got her from a rescue and she was stabled at Bowie Training Center in MA. She needs some weight and time to be happy and be a horse....

Dance With Ravens o/o a Prized mare Texas.
Looking for a few thoughts on this coming breeding season. Emporia is on her way to Texas so I would be (for the first year) looking at a Texas stallion. I already have one in mind and have done some homework, but brain storming (different views) is always fun

Sorry Tinner, I don't know how to "quote" something on here ... or use the "quote" to respond. To be honest I don't know or understand all the ins and outs of the horse racing "inner circle" industry, however, I have learned a lot in the last year plus .. especially really big words! lol I am a comm...

Jazette, most of the rule changes were accomplished based on a "consensus". The vote last night was based on the full board voting. If you felt you were not represented, be sure you vote this fall, or better yet throw your name into the ring. The 179 drop in membership represents over another 10% a...

@ Theo, sorry I have read the posts but not had the time to respond. I agree with all that you said, however, I do believe that once regrouped it is easier to start fresh. Personally, I feel that the associations have forgotten about the small horsemen and are catering to the bigger horsemen ... typ...

I have a simply question, and it is more than likely out of ignorance. G2W, instead of shortening the race days why not shorten the purses? Of course, everything is about the money, but doesn't it seem that it would benefit Texas racing if the money stayed in Texas? To me (a lay person, admittedly) ...

The question is, which came first the chicken or the egg? Or which is more important the mare or the stallion? I guess it depends on whether you have the mare or the stallion. People will send their mare to a good stallion if the moeny is available and people will send their stallion where money is ...

HorseCrazy, "without slots, without slots yadayadayada". Slots ain't happening, so explain to me how "without slots" LS is going to lose 52m in the next five years? Do you really think that a prudent business man/woman/group would invest in something that they didn't think that they could turn aroun...

G2W, I do take offense to your small breeder comments. My family and I have been breeding Texas breds since the mid 50's. No, we have not made a fortune in the racing business .. within the last 60 plus years hopefully, we broke even. You do sound like an elitist. Not everyone can afford what you ca...
