Re: Looking for a stallion in KY

I have a chance to send my mare Wheely Pink to KY. I chose these stallions to consider. What are your thoughts on them? Can anyone comment on these stallions as a match for Wheely Pink? The mare is about 16.2h, medium build. I don't know how to upload a picture. Kettle Corn (OH) $2,500 Dominus $5,00...

How do you decide?

Besides conformation, what do you look at when choosing a stallion?
Dosage Index?
Center of Distribution?
AEI?
What other things help you?

Re: Looking for a stallion in KY

Thanks ct2346, I love Majestic City! He's my #1 NY choice, but since I'm going to have a little more spending money I wanted to expand my search.

Looking for a stallion in KY

Looking for a stallion in KY for this mare Wheely Pink. Looking to race potentially in NY+. Stud fee range $5,000 - $12,000. Willing to look outside KY too. Can anyone tell me about her female line and stallions that would work or help her pedigree? Also interested in City Zip lines. Mare is medium-...

Anything interesting in this pedigree?

Can anyone tell me something interesting about this pedigree anywhere? He race trained, but bowed a tendon. He's Palomino, just wondering if there's anything interesting for breeding to race or performance. Not a great picture of him. https://www.pedigreequery.com/sunny+sivils Mare https://www.pedig...

Palomino's

Can anyone tell me about the Palomino color and any performance history?

Here's one that race trained, but I don't know if he worked.

Thank you. Everyone's opinion was greatly appreciated, and confirmed my gut feelings about this mare.

Re: Conformation

Thank you Madelyn. Here's a couple of pics of her feet. The mare has white ankles which threw me off. She does toes out in front. Back doesn't seem bad. I'm told she doesn't paddle. It definitely doesn't look pretty. In a foal, could this be worked with a farrier? https://photos.app.goo.gl/7ckBdNar9...

Conformation

Could you live with: broodmare prospect
1. Long pasterns
2. Toes out front - doesn't paddle, travels straight
3. Toes out behind - slightly
Is this always passed on to foals? I realize farriers can work with foals that toe out.

Re: Which stallion?

Thank you Madelyn. I appreciate your comments, it was more diplomatically put. I understand this is a racing site. Some people breed to sell and some breed to race their own. Maybe when I have a mare that has a more substantial record I'll feel more confident about asking questions.
