Re: Battle of Midway retired

The horse ran 10 times this year, seemed to get better and better. Seemed pretty sound. By a sire that got better himself with age. He's 3!!! Winstar spurns through these horses pretty quickly, they barely have yearlings at sales and they're shipping them off to make room for another 3-year-old. Wo...

Re: Racing Statistics and fate of 45 racehorses born in 2007

I'm curious as to what your criteria were for choosing them in the beginning of your study. in order of importance immediate pedigree appearance (if I could see sale or breeze video) then I checked against two of my lists that I've casually kept over the years of my own research-- one of soundness ...

Racing Statistics and fate of 45 racehorses born in 2007

I closed out another "class" of 10 year olds . . . and again, here are the results. Most came from Keeneland September, the others winter/spring 2YO in training sales. Where they ended up: adopted 6.60% broodmare 22.20% died 8.80% second career 11.11% exported 4.40% stallion 2.20% Unknown ...

She was scratched out of that race.
Thanks Madelyn. It does distress and frustrate me. But I really had no choice.

Oh I know; there's an arcade game that simulates jockey riding, and I couldn't even finish one game...in my fit late thirties!
So glad you enjoyed.

Re: Ownership venture # 2: Gala Regatta '15

Well, yes Tap, you're right---I had similar thoughts. And I would have made a quick $100. But in my limited experience of horses whose careers I've followed and noted, a quick jump to stakes company usually leads to a poor performance, which leads to subsequent poor performances. Re: Ownership venture # 2: Gala Regatta '15

Guess I got out in time. She was entered in the Lynbrook and of course was dead last.

Hi there, I've done some soundness research on my own, and didn't find much that points to him throwing unsound...
