I haven't heard a thing from the Blood- Horse yet about publishing my letter. If I do, I'll let you know.

I have written a couple of letters to the Bloodhorse over the years but they didn't notify me beforehand, the letters just appeared in the magazine. I hope they print yours.

Winds, great letter.

I ask the forum members--- why can't the key people in this industry see how much sense this makes? One of the very appealing aspects of our sport is the diversity in our racing---- distances, surfaces, and venues, it seems to me that the stamina segment of our game is completely overlooked at all levels of our sport.
Everyone in our industry needs to work together to get this important aspect of our game back into its rightful position. If there were some important races with big purses to run for------ it would go a long way towards getting the whole process started. As an industry we need to be far less impressed by speed and place more emphasis on stamina and soundness. It would provide a great balance to the speed ball breeding types that are all too common today.

Great post Winds!

Very nicely said. How about if everyone writes to the Blood Horse, the Thoroughbred Times, the Daily Racing Form and who ever else. Maybe if enough of us write and keep it up, maybe a letter every other month, we can get someone's attention and changes will be made.

Don't listen to the neysayers, we've got to stay positive and get things changed, if we have to do it ourselves.
