Are there any nice places to live north of Lexington? I may try to relocate to the US Postal Mail Processing Plant which is in the northern part of Lexington? I was thinking about Georgetown, Midway, and so on. It is an opportunity for plenty of work and to be closer to the Thoroughbred industry.

Hey Keith! I used to have my horses right near the Nandino post office facility (about 3 miles down the road...). That 40-odd acres now -- sadly -- is the site of something like 190 new houses in the Masterson subdivision.
If you're looking for outside of Lexington, Georgetown is nice and is fairly close. Stamping Ground is a bit more of a jaunt but the prices are lower. Lots lower, in fact, thanks to the premium prices in Georgetown due to the college there, the Bengals training camp, and the Toyota facility. But--those things all mean that Georgetown (and all of Scott County, which includes Stamping Ground), is a pretty nice place to live.
Midway is a big step up in class. Prestigious horse farms. Great downtown. Well-to-do girls' school. Much better horse land than Georgetown or Stamping Ground. But you pay for it--it's a pretty pricey area.
Unless you're bringing horses, you can do pretty well finding a home in the new Masterson Station developments in north Lex.
Good luck!
We just purchased a pretty nice place in Richmond, KY and I drive to Lexington every day to go to work. Not a bad drive!
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.
