Oh boy another one..
Reason one: she is really broke and I want a trail horse
Reason Two: she needs a home, the riding school rescued her from someone who had starved her in a 10X10 pen with two other horses.
Reason Three: she has a neat pedigree: her second dam raced against Ruffian and actually ran second too her in several stakes races (I think)
Reason Four: 16 is not old , she has lots of years left in her
Kind Regards
I would love to e-mail photos to someone who can upload them for me

Hear, hear! I grew up around Arabs, and most of them can show at a regional/national level until at least 20. There is something to be said for experienced horses.
Best of luck to you, NancyT, and I'm sure this mare will appreciate your care.

The reference is directly to Laughing Bridge who in the summer of 74 was considered as the challenger in her "showdown" with Ruffian. She was a very talented filly whose early performance caused anticipation of that showdown. It is likely that historical context that eludes you, George.

Happy Trails to you & Embrace The Win!
Photos can't be directly uploaded to the message forum, but they can be displayed in a message by using the Img tag if available elsewhere online. If there's no photo of her already online you're welcome to email me one or more to be uploaded.

Good to know there's someone else around that's old enough to remember those races.
