That's a pretty amazing story. Hope the owner is doing okay now.

Pirate's sire, Marshua's Dancer, keeps turning up in pedigrees a lot lately for me. I believe he's a 3/4 brother to Mr. Prospector.
So many pedigrees...so little time. (C)

Why, I think you're right! I also see Pirate's Bounty showing up often for some reason... maybe I just never noticed before we bred this filly. The owner is doing well now, she has an amazing outlook on life, very cheerful... it was tough on her for a very long time, though. Needless to say, the stallion is her hero... she was there for both of Sassie's wins.

Incidentally, it looks like we're going to be able to get a copy of the actual photo finish picture itself, so we can see where she wins, instead of our picture where she's still third!

Sassie is also the "Cover Girl" for the track photographer's portfolio of morning work-out pictures. She was feeling REALLY good one morning and he just happened to be there with his camera... he said he's making a huge blow-up of the picture and was trying to get it done for Derby day, but he's not sure it will be ready.

Great going Roq!! Let's here it for the home breds...winner's like this give us all hope, even if it takes a while. Congrats and many more wins. Remember, John Henry started out slow, as did Seabiscuit.
