jockey club rule medication violations

The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget...

The Jockey Club should be penalized 5 yards for piling on.

Brogan that attitude is what has gotten us into this mess in the first
place. They broke the rules and got caught.

The owners should be caught as well, and receiving also a year from their part in this case.

First, I don't quite get it. What is the point of banning an individual for a year for a meds violation? I don't condone the violation but I don't see much effect on a guy like Miyadi who primarily trains horses not breed them..

Second, how many trainers out there are with three violations in a year? Tons.. Why aren't they banned from registering horses??

Yes, they got caught and were disciplined by the appropriate state racing commission. Deservedly so.

My point is that the Jockey Club has jumped in with a basically meaningless penalty to the offending parties that have already been dealt with by the proper authorities...primarily for PR in my opinion.
