when I was in a partnership with about 10%, I Usually bet 20 across, just in case. but as many have pointed out here owning is the biggest gamble of all.

My favorite bet is $25 across if I am at the track. WPS, I give the ticket to the groom. Pay off was so big one time, the groom quite the next day. Had to rethink but still is my lucky bet.

I used to bet on my horses until I had a bad streak. I bet a gelding I claimed 10 or 11 times in a row with no success. I got frustrated and did not bet him his next time out. As Murphy would have it, he won at 17-1. I then decided the rumors of jinxing your horse if you bet them were true. I haven't bet on one since.

I might bet one out of every 20 horses I run. I rarely bet them

the best time to bet on one of your horses is when you know something important that does not show up in the past performances or comment lines !
