He must be a very nice tempered horse. The boy handling him had him on a very short lead.

I called Buckpond this morning..it was really odd, the phone just kept ringing until it seemed to transfer to another number. There was no answering machine, just a default voicemail for a different number than I dialed. I've also tried emailing them last week and no word. I don't know how to get in touch with them.....and their website is down...what is going on???

It's Sunday. I spoke with someone there yesterday. Farms do not generally have staff to accept telephone calls on the weekend, EXCEPT Saturday morning when they have someone in the office for calls relating to breeding shed appointments. Their website administrator accidentally let their website hosting contract expire and they expect to have it back up in a few days.

Got back from Kentucky last wednesday night. Had so much fun and I've been kind of depressed having to get back into the motion of things out here. It took us 36 hours to get back to california after missing our flight out of lexington, waiting almost 12 hours in an airport and then hitting bad weather in Chicago which caused us to miss our connecting flight to california forcing us to stay overnight and take a flight out the following afternoon.

Got to see Seattle Fitz and take a tour of Buckpond. Doug got a kick out of my friend and I...I guess he was expecting something else. We had dinner at Malones and went to all the bars downtown. Also visited the horse park, which to be honest, I thought would be a little more exciting. We made friends with some Irish guys...one a blacksmith and the other by the name of Derek Galvin, a trainer who trained rags to riches to her first race before she was taken to a a different stable ( he's legit, I looked him up.)

Anyways all in all, it was a blast and I've been missing it ever since we left. :(

But, on another note, I was wondering if anyone has known of any successful racehorses or broodmares that have been inbred to somethingroyal. One particular mare, Phoenix Rising, has been offered to me for sale by Doug Arnold of Buckpond, in foal to Seattle Fitz. I'm not crazy about her, mainly because of her lack of blacktype up close, but I can't stop thinking about the fact that she is inbred 3x4x5 to Somethingroyal....what do you guys think of this particular display of the rasmussen factor?

There are 36 graded stakes winners inbred to Somethingroyal, according G1 Goldmine.
