It's so nice to have a feel good story for a change! He looks like a jewel!

Woody is feeling better everyday. I am pretty sure he had ulcers, I did not have him scoped but he responded positively with malox and he has started eating better. We also put him on some supplements to help his muscles heal and he is getting less body sore. I adopted another guy off the track a week after Woody named Freedom Lane. I did that with the generous trailering help of another member, Pokeymon as well as the help of a trainer at Suffolk who does a lot of rescue work and Canter. She generously donated trailering and together we were able to secure this deserving guy a chance at a new career as well. He suffered a bowed tendon a few months ago. When he got up here it looked big and angry but he felt fine on it. I have been wrapping to reduce inflammation and minimize the blemish that he is left with. He is adjusting well, though he went from stall rest at the track to stall rest at my home... he has a stall with an open door with a bar across that lets him look at the other horses while he munches hay all day
I googled him and it looks like he could run when he was younger. He is still putting weight on, but I will take a picture soon to share.

I keep chuckling because my nick on another board is Woody...
First, congrats. Second, thank you. Third - what are you doing for the bow? I can't see it and I generally have a pretty good eye. RF I'm guessing, but it's only a guess. Whatever your secret for getting the inflammation down, I want to know it.
Fourth - what a looker! As little as his lower legs are I'd be paranoid about chronic issues, but everything else is very, very nice.
Once you have some meat on his back the saddle issues will go away. And that face - is that sweet or what?
You do pretty good. Good eye, good job.
(Vermont is the only one of the lower 48 I haven't been to, darn it!)

Warhorse,
No picture of the SECOND horse Freedom Lane yet, Woody does not have the bow
This is Freedom Lane's Canter pic from a year ago:
You cant see his bow because he does not have it. But he bowed his left front. It was big and ugly and scary when he came up... I dmso/furzone sweated it the first few days as well as hosing. Now I am just doing a standing wrap. I ordered him a smartpak with a tendon repair supp. He moves sound, so I am hopeful. I cant wait for the deep snow (never thought I would say that) because that does wonders for inflammation! He is a happy guy and likes to make faces when he eats.
Woody is feeling better everyday and cant wait till his friend Lane can join him in the pasture (Woody no longer likes to be in a stall which he can go into whenever he wants.

He got the bow on 9/16. When they looked at him at the track they were under the impression it was 3 months old and not 2. They palpated him and he did not react and he walked and trotted sound. He was not being wrapped. He had a 4+ hour trailer ride and came off slightly sore and slightly warm. That is when I started treatment. I tried to talk with the trainer to see what he had done... the best I could figure was he was wrapped after for a bit, and hand walked... When he came to me he looked like he had not been wrapped in a while and was pretty swollen, though moving fine. He has been here for 1 weak and the swelling has gone down, it does not look so scary anymore. It is not hot, a little warm compared to his other leg. He is on stall rest with some walking. There is more rehab on him needed than I thought, but I am glad I was able to help him. If anyone has any suggestions I am open to them!
