Less than a hour until another Aussie sprinter takes on the cream of Europe down the famed Royal Ascot turf.

The race Takeover Target made his own, the Gr 1 King's Stand Stakes, will be highlighted by the son of Starcraft, Star Witness, who will attempt to emulate the world champion sprinter's brilliant win in 2006.

Will the 'world's best sprinter' title be coming home to Australia again?

We will soon find out!

A mare named Black Caviar may have something to say about that.

Hey Wilf,

Yes, she sure will once she gets out of OZ.

What did you think of So You Think's run in the Prince Of Wales?

Hi Arga, I thought that it was a tough race and he took off too soon, but O'Brien said that he did not have him fit enough. From memory he has had throat surgery too which may come back to haunt him, what a wonderful horse though ,all the same!

Just on an hour until the Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes and Gr 1 King's Stand runner-up from earlier in the week, Aussie sprinter Star Witness, is favourite.

Arguably one of the greatest racehorses to ever leave Australian shores is racing tonight (12.10pm AEST) at Goodwood, UK.

So You Think, who was trained by the Legendary Bart Cummings, won two consecutive WS Cox Plates in Australia under his care - the benchmark for the racing elite - is now trained by Aidan O'Brien after Coolmore purchased a controlling interest for a reported A$50m.

If you get a chance to this thoroughbred in action, you will witness a very special equine.

He is also targeting the Arc and the Breeders Cup.

Hope to see this race as the excellent Workforce also lines up in the Eclipse with Ryan Moore going from So You Think to the horse he had great success with last year winning the Derby in record time and then winning the "Arc". So You Think may be the most talented horse Cummings ever trained although horses like Taj Rossi,Gallilee, Leilani,Beau Zam,Saintly and Let's Elope would argue their place in that statement. Even so it is amazing to realise that So You Think was not even properly 3yrs old when he won the W S Cox Plate the first time.

Great victory by So You Think to defeat Workforce by half a length after giving him two lengths at the furlong in the Group 1 Eclipse Stakes, UK.

So You Think, who did all of his preparation and racing in Australia under the master, Bart Cummings, was bred in New Zealand, the Southern Hemisphere's Kentucky, the same country the legend Phar Lap was also bred.

He will be aimed at the King George Stakes at Ascot, the Arc De Triomphe in Paris and possibly the Breeders Cup, USA.

He may also travel back to Australia to try to emulate the champion Kingston Town, who won three consecutive Cox Plates, a feat no thoroughbred has ever been able to equal.

Later tonight, Star Witness (by Starcraft) will line up in the Gr 1 July Cup (1200m) at Newmarket.

This will be his last start before retiring to Widden Stud, NSW, Australia.

Star Witness will be aiming to be the first Australian-trained horse to win the race.

This is just about as big as it gets on the International scene for racing from 'down under'.

So You Think - the Champion New Zealand-bred, formerly Aussie-trained by the legendary Bart Cummings, originally owned outright by his longtime best client from Malaysia, Dato Tan Chin Nam and now owned jointly with Coolmore with a controlling share sold late last year valuing the superstar thoroughbred at $A60million - will start favourite in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (2400m) run in about 24hrs.

Now trained in Ireland by Aidan O'Brien, So You Think will have to overcome not only the best field in the world but also barrier 15 in the 16-horse field.

The Arc will be run at 1.15am Monday (AEST).

Hey Arga, how are you goin' mate? Thanks for the update ,the Arc is a great day out indeed in the sublime weather of a Parisian autumnal afternoon. Would that I could be there as I was on a gorgeous day when the fabulous Rainbow Quest won by DQ over the French favourite Sagace around 1985. The race actually goes off about 6hours ahead of us here in the States which makes it around 11 am on Sunday Oct 2nd. So You Think is an enigma really as his Cox Plate wins showed his talent for all to see but I don't see him as a dour stayer ,one other thing that I must point out though is that he is actually better served going righthanded as per the Longchamp way of going because he will not switch his leads going left which made his task at Moonee Valley slightly easier. He was hard pressed at Leopardstown last out going left as it is a great galloping track,so we shall see and whatever the outcome he is a marvelous horse. Please keep us current on Black Caviar and Sepoy, surely the two best sprinters in the world. Regards,Wilf.
