Roguelet - you're doing a great job at moderating - I don't think limiting the topics of the boards is as good as an idea as giving posters the warning and then banning them if their behavior is that poor... for reasons that most of the others have pointed out. Namely, a little bit of netiquette goes a long way, and that while you've encouraged them to express their opinions in a positive way, it's ultimately their fault if they cross the lines. [/u]

Rogulet,
I put "other" because I pretty much like the way this forum has been moderated all along. It happens that when I get really busy and can't come on to read or respond to posts, all the fighting and fireworks seem to break out, get moderated or resolved, then I hear later there was something going on. But, so far, I haven't been terribly offended by anything that I've read or seen on here. Good job!

Hi - I voted for the first choice. Keep up the great work Rog - I am sure the forum members have a great sense on their personal choices. I have been waiting patiently for a few mares to bring me a champ. Thanks

Hi Roguelet. I voted some time ago for the second, but on reflection, the first is good and the way you choose to do it would be best.

Dear Roguelet,

I voted for the first option.

I am glad with the work you are doing in the board. Your style is quite courteous and correct. You never lose your temper and fine style and never enliven a fight. You show equanimity and that's crucial in these endeavors.

I think the bottom line from all our readers is that they mainly prefer the site to be non-confrontational, non-offensive, non-vulgar, no revenges, no use of epithets on other members, no belittleling on other people's rationale, no indirect personal attacks, no emphasis on innapropiate sexual references, and great great respect for everyone at all time. For all these reasons I sincerely admire the work you, Roguelet, are doing and want to congratulate you most.

Since you are the moderator, the site shouldn't have any problem at all. By the same token, in order to keep the first option of your survey as the best alternative for operating this site, it is equally medular that your team reflects your judicious style and temperate wisdom.

All the Best,

Hey Roguelet,

I admire the job you do with this site! I can even openly admit that "I" have at times walked the line with comments and such. But such as life that is human nature........peeps have good days and bad days. Since ive been on this board ive met some great, helpful and intelligent people and while the pissing contests occur they seem to always involve the same people......ive even been called a woman hater  ......im not losing any sleep over it......neither should you!

Happy Easter!

Rogulet,

I am a long time viewer of this site. What brings me back day after day is the passion and wisdom of the posters and yourself. There is an amazing free flow of subjects, ideas and information. While I disagree with some, I value their opinions and passion for horses. Those who infight to an extreme add little to this site when they are in the heat of battle perhaps a cooling off period in extreme instances would be warranted but the site is terrific the way it is.

Hi Guys,

Roguelet I wouldn't want to be President of the United States nor moderator of this list. You have a very hard job and I applaud you for trying to keep somekind of order on this list.
I voted for number 2.
You can tell who has class by their post the rest just ignore. Life is way too short to argue about trival matters.

I almost never post, but posting alot on other forums for years, I have to say let them speak.

Clean it up if necessary.

I just hope "offensive" doesn't mean viewpoints relating to horses which are very unpopular and un-PC. Such as when dealing with slaughter, or how to raise horses, etc.

I think those unpopular ideas need to be vetted and not simply shut down.

But basically, I can understand if common-sense tasteless things are cleaned up.

So I voted for the next-to-top.

I vote that the moderator has supreme power.

I will say that I get sick of the infighting that goes on at this site.

Also, I do not appreciate the attitude that "some" of the posters portray in the responses that they create. We can do without that.

We're grownups, as a rule, here and shouldn't need protection from the offensive. I think we can determine to take it or leave it, so the less moderation the better, in my opinion.

R,

I voted:

Allow posters to express themselves as they wish, only moderating extreme cases

Its only a few on here that go over the top...

Only moderate in extreme cases, as has been handled all along. I have Been here from the start, and I love the way Rogue has moderated all along. I also love Sam's no bullshit approach to fools. Rock on.

We're grownups, as a rule, here and shouldn't need protection from the offensive. I think we can determine to take it or leave it, so the less moderation the better, in my opinion.

The above post says it all. I am an adult. If you can't filter out my personality, then go somewhere where it is done for you and I am not around.

I find this forum to be a refreshingly adult place which is not patroled by the PC police. We worked hard to get folks who wanted to cause trouble by wanting to ban other posters off the board, both here and on Allbreed, and the rules we have established about posting have worked well.

Cheers, Cheryl/Inyureye/AnotherRound
