One of my favorites was a 1958 horse bred by (I believe) Alfred Vanderbilt. The horse was by Sailor out of When In Rome named Weekend Pass!

I read somewhere that Vanderbilt used to have parties where he would give out pedigrees to guests and they were to come up with names for the yearlings. (Hope that's a true story. Perhaps someone can verify or enlighten me on that!)

I love Bolshoi Bullseye!

Some really clever names.

For the Impeachment X Harvest Singing, I like Ouchita Gold and here are some others:
Singing Peach
j'accuse
Georgia Song
Harvest Criminal
Imperfect Song
Impish Fruit (weird I know lol!)
Impish Song
Impish Harvest
President's Song
Clinton's Tune
Nixon Sings
Frost Nixon (like the movie)
Harvest of Sin

I had a filly by Good and Tough whose Granddam was Ridinghood - named her Liltoughridinghood

Need to name her 1/2 sister by Freeforinternet - dam is Witherbee Hall who is by Ide - any ideas greatly appreciated. Barn name is Lucy Goosey

I can't verify that, but I know of an owner/breeder who had a naming party once. She let her friends and neighbours have a few too many before naming the crop. One that stands out in my mind is "Gord". I just double checked on APR in case I was hallucinating. :D

Really don't mean to bump up my own thread but I did have a plain little bay gelding once with a cute name. He was by Judge Smells out of All Blue For You and of course he was called You Smell.

Trying to name a 2-year-old with the dam and sire's name involved...

Dam: Delicate Vine
Sire: Honour and Glory

Devine Honour is taken...so we are throwing around the following:

Honour De Vine
Glory De Vine
Devinour
De' Onour
Vine's Honour

Anyone have a favorite here, or something better? Thanks for any thoughts here....

I named a filly
Gyre And Gimble

Her dam was Brillig

From the first line of the poem Jaberwocky...by Lewis Carroll

"Twas brillig, and the slithy toves. Did gyre and gimble in the wabe"

Gyre and gimble means... "Runs Around In A Circle Really Fast" ...according to Carroll !
